Stranger Things Fans React To Surprise Season 5 Production Error

Fans of Stranger Things are famous for analyzing every detail of the show, looking for hints about the mysterious Upside Down. But recently, they’ve been finding something different: mistakes in how the show was made. As the first part of Season 5 becomes available, viewers are spotting some surprising editing and continuity errors.

Eagle-eyed Stranger Things viewers call out editing mistake in Season 5

With the release of Stranger Things Season 5, fans have been meticulously examining every detail. A TikTok video recently highlighted a funny editing mistake in episode two, quickly becoming a popular topic online (according to E! News).

The key scene takes place at night, showing Will (Noah Schnapp) and Robin (Maya Hawke) looking for the location where Will last had a vision connected to Vecna.

While filming in a park at night, the crew used brightly colored tape – orange and blue X’s – to show the actors where to stand. Surprisingly, this tape accidentally appeared in the finished version of the scene.

The TikTok user who shared the video on December 4th wrote, “Oh no, not the orange and blue tape marking the scene!” and included a crying emoji. One commenter jokingly said the mistake meant the whole season was ruined, claiming they were “crying and throwing up.” Despite the error, many fans actually found it endearing.

One viewer shared that spotting small details like these helps them remember they’re watching a show, not reality. Another playfully suggested someone was already building a whole theory around the visible tape used to mark set positions. A third person appreciated seeing what appeared to be a human mistake, especially with so much content now created using artificial intelligence.

This week’s production issue isn’t the first fans have noticed this season. Earlier in Season 5, viewers spotted a continuity error in a flashback scene featuring Will and Jonathan building Castle Byers. With the final episodes arriving on December 25th, fans are preparing to scrutinize every detail.
