I’m really excited to hear that Maya Hawke is going to be in a new Netflix series called “The God of the Woods.” It sounds like it’s going to be a really interesting, multi-generational family drama – definitely something I’ll be adding to my watchlist!
Maya Hawke, known for her role as Robin Buckley on the hit show Stranger Things, is joining the cast as a main character. She will play Judy Luptack, a groundbreaking female investigator working in the Bureau of Criminal Investigation, and will be tasked with solving the mystery of a missing girl.
Set in the mountains of the Adirondacks, The God of the Woods unravels the hidden secrets and social conflicts within the Van Laar family. The story centers around the disappearance of 13-year-old Barbara Van Laar from her family’s summer camp, and suggests a possible connection to a previous, devastating family event.
When secrets from the past resurface, the Van Laar family begins to lose their fortune and standing, exposing the harmful effects of their advantages and how they misused their power.
This new TV series is adapted from Liz Moore’s popular 2024 novel, which was a New York Times bestseller.
Moore will be heavily involved in the series as a showrunner, writer, and executive producer, working with Liz Hannah, who has previously worked on shows like ‘The Girl from Plainville,’ ‘Mindhunter,’ and ‘The Post’.
Moore and Hannah shared their excitement about creating the show, stating they are eager to collaborate with Sony and Netflix to bring ‘The God of the Woods’ to the screen.

I’m really excited about ‘The God of the Woods’! We don’t know all the actors yet, or exactly when it’s coming out, but it feels like those announcements are just around the corner, and I can’t wait to find out!
