The fifth and final season of Stranger Things starts later this month on November 26th, and the actors are beginning to discuss what’s in store for their characters, particularly focusing on the future of Max.
Caleb McLaughlin, the actor who plays Lucas Sinclair, recently discussed the fate of Will and Max in an interview with SFX Magazine. He focused on how Lucas is coping emotionally with everything that’s happening, and addressed the big question of whether Max will recover.
Lucas is really struggling this season. After everything that happened to Max in season four, he blames himself for not being able to do more to help her. While he did manage to save her, he still feels guilty, like he could have prevented it or done even more.
Max Mayfield, played by Sadie Sink, joined the cast of Stranger Things in season 2, and Lucas quickly developed a connection with her. He tried to warn her about the dangers lurking in Hawkins, and eventually shared the strange experiences he and his friends had been through.
By season 4 of the popular Netflix show, Max is struggling with trauma following the loss of her stepbrother, Billy. This emotional state makes her a target for Vecna, who ultimately puts her in a coma by taking control of her mind. This situation significantly affects the storyline for Caleb McLaughlin’s character, as he explains…
He’s dealing with a lot of emotional pain because of what happened to someone he cares for deeply. He felt responsible for her well-being, and now she’s facing a difficult situation, which is understandably impacting him as he starts the new season.
The latest trailer for the final season of Stranger Things reveals Lucas frequently by Max’s side, even bravely fighting off a Demodog while carrying her to what looks like a hospital – where they’re quickly surrounded by enemies. Vecna is bringing chaos to Hawkins, setting up a massive battle for all the characters, but it’s still unknown whether Max will make it through.
I’m so excited! Netflix is releasing the first four episodes of Stranger Things on November 26th, and then the rest – Volume 2 – on December 25th. They’re even finishing it off with the finale on December 31st! And get this – as part of Stranger Things Day, we can watch the first five minutes of season 5 early this week at a special watch party. It’s going to be amazing!
