Stranger Things Season 5 Trailer: Vecna’s Shocking Revelation Involving Will Byers

The first trailer for Stranger Things season 5 is here, and it hints at a surprising connection between Vecna (Jamie Campbell Bower) and Will Byers (Noah Schnapp). Fans have been waiting a long time for the fifth and final season of the popular Netflix show, as season 4 aired in 2022.

Netflix just dropped a new trailer for the upcoming season. It opens with unsettling images of Vecna in the Upside Down, where he says, “At long last… we can begin,” to a mysterious figure who looks a lot like him. As Queen’s “Who Wants to Live Forever” plays, Mike Wheeler explains that everyone in Hawkins is having a hard time after being isolated by the military, and they need to work together to finally defeat Vecna.

Eleven demonstrates her abilities by jumping a tall fence, then warns Mike that this isn’t a game like Dungeons & Dragons where he controls what happens. The seriousness of the situation becomes clear as Nancy and Dustin are shown crying, likely because someone important has died.

Dustin emphasizes the importance of everyone remaining authentic and true to themselves, even when facing overwhelming challenges. The trailer concludes with a terrifying scene of Demogorgons attacking a military base, and Vecna lifting a frightened Will, stating he needs Will’s assistance “one last time.” You can watch the trailer below.

Although we’ve seen bits and pieces in earlier previews, this new footage includes a lot of fresh content, most notably the climactic scene between Vecna and Will. This confirms Will plays a crucial role in Vecna’s plan, and Vecna’s line, “one last time,” hints that there’s a deeper, yet-to-be-revealed connection between them.

This could prove that Vecna was the one who kidnapped Will in the first season. If confirmed, it would explain what Will experienced while in the Upside Down, and clarify his link to Vecna and that alternate world.

The person Vecna is speaking with at the start of the trailer suggests there’s more to discover about the show’s main villain. Like introducing the Mind Flayer and then Vecna, the series keeps changing our understanding of who the real enemy is.

The trailer for Stranger Things season 5 also showed off Eleven’s incredible powers. We see her jumping over fences and unleashing a huge wave of energy across the Hawkins sky – she appears more powerful than ever before. However, if Vecna manages to control Will, Eleven might have to battle her friend.

It’s still unknown what happened to Max Mayfield (Sadie Sink) in Stranger Things. The latest trailer shows her still unconscious and being carried by Lucas Sinclair (Caleb McLaughlin) while they’re pursued by a Demodog, leaving her fate uncertain.

This trailer is probably the last big preview we’ll get before the final season of Stranger Things arrives on Netflix. Fans have been waiting years for this conclusion, and now the show is ready to deliver it.

The fifth and final season of Stranger Things will be released in two parts. The first four episodes, Volume 1, will be available starting November 26th, followed by the final three episodes, Volume 2, on December 25th. The series concludes with the finale on December 31st. All new episodes will premiere at 8 PM Eastern Time / 5 PM Pacific Time.
