With fans buzzing about possibilities, a star from Stranger Things has spoken about the chance of joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. As the series nears its conclusion, the actor said they’d be interested in playing Harry Osborn, a well-known character from the Spider-Man stories.
Joe Keery talks about the prospects of playing Harry Osborn in the MCU
Joe Keery has addressed the online buzz about potentially joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans have been speculating he could play Harry Osborn in a future Spider-Man film, and Keery confirmed he’s seen the fan edits on TikTok. While promoting his new movie, Cold Storage, he said it’s enjoyable to consider the possibility of playing Peter Parker’s friend.
When pressed for details, Keery explained that things tend to work out as they should, and ultimately, you can’t plan everything. He admitted to simply staying open to opportunities, doing a lot of research, and hoping for the best, then eagerly asked to see the script and get started.
Joe Keery has been linked to Marvel Studios since early 2026, sparking fan speculation about his potential role. Many believe he could play Harry Osborn in the upcoming Spider-Man: Brand New Day film, scheduled for release on July 31, 2026. However, according to industry insider Daniel Richtman, Keery might be considering a different part within the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
As a huge movie fan, I’ve been seeing a lot of buzz online about casting choices, and Joe Keery keeps popping up as a fan favorite for either Nova or Cyclops – both characters we’re anticipating in future Marvel films. And get this – according to Daniel Richtman, a pretty reliable source, it sounds like Eman Esfandi, who was great in Ahsoka, might already be locked in to play MJ’s new boyfriend in Spider-Man 4! It’s exciting to think about where these stories are headed.
Both James Franco and Dane DeHaan have played Harry Osborn in past Spider-Man movies. Currently, Willem Dafoe is the only actor from the Osborn family to appear in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, first showing up in No Way Home. If Marvel officially announces Joe Keery’s casting, he might work alongside his Stranger Things co-star, Sadie Sink, who is already involved in the upcoming Brand New Day project.
