With the March 17th release of Alex in Street Fighter 6 fast approaching, Capcom has shared a detailed new trailer showcasing his moves and abilities. The over seven-minute video breaks down his regular attacks and special moves. You can watch it below.
Alex is a rushdown character who excels at getting in close and dealing heavy damage. He uses long-range attacks to keep opponents at bay and quickly closes the distance with forward-moving strikes. Many of his attacks utilize his Prowler Stance, letting him chain together combos and finish with strong, wrestling-inspired grapples.
Alex has a flexible special move called Flash Axe. This elbow strike can be chained into combos to keep opponents attacking, and the light version is even safe on block – meaning your opponent can’t immediately retaliate. The medium version lets Alex transition into Prowler Stance and has a broader, longer-reaching attack.
The Flash Chop is a quick, lunging attack that spins your opponent around, leaving them vulnerable for follow-up moves, such as powerful throws. The Overdrive version of this attack deals extra damage and can even be chained together after a series of quick Light attacks.
Alex can handle enemies in the air with his Aerial Knee Smash, a move that quickly pulls them down to the ground.
Alex’s fighting style draws heavily from professional wrestling, letting him perform classic moves like the Power Bomb and various DDTs and neckbreakers. He also has a strong defensive move called the Raging Spear, which briefly makes him immune to attacks while he’s starting it up.
Alex has three signature moves. The Sledgecross Hammer is a powerful lariat that can lead into other attacks. His Omega Wing Buster, inspired by Kenny Omega’s One-Winged Angel, follows the Overdrive Power Drop and features a series of impactful animations, culminating in a devastating driving piledriver. Finally, The Final Prison begins with a takedown, transitions into a painful submission hold, and finishes with a powerful power slam.
It’s not surprising to see references to Kenny Omega, as the professional wrestler helped create Alex’s in-game moves by providing motion capture. Capcom recently shared a video showing how this process worked.
You can play Street Fighter 6 on PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch 2. Plus, Capcom plans to share more details in a new showcase later this week.
