Christmas is fast approaching, with officially a month to go before the big day arrives.
I’m so excited for the holidays, and one of my favorite parts is always the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special! It’s back this year with a new group of celebrities, and I can’t wait to see them try to win that amazing Christmas Glitterball trophy. It’s such a fun show!
This year’s Christmas special will be particularly touching, as it will be the final time viewers see Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly hosting the show, after they announced they are leaving.
Don’t worry, the BBC has started revealing the celebrities who will be competing on the dance floor this Christmas, and they’ve announced the first two contestants!

Scarlett Moffatt is the first celebrity confirmed to appear on the 2025 Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special.
Scarlett first became well-known as a TV personality when she appeared on the show Gogglebox with her family. She gained even more popularity after winning I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2016. Since then, she’s hosted the BBC Sounds podcast Scarlett Moffatt Wants to Believe, presented the Channel 4 documentary Britain’s Tourette’s Mystery: Scarlett Moffatt Investigates, and appeared in 30 episodes of the cooking show Love Bites.
She expressed her excitement about being on this year’s Christmas special, saying that ‘Strictly’ has always been a beloved show for her, making this opportunity feel incredibly special. She loves that the show unites families and friends to watch together, and considers being a part of it a real achievement both personally and professionally. She joked that it would be a good workout, and she’s looking forward to enjoying herself on the dance floor.

Melanie Blatt is a British singer best known as a member of the popular girl group All Saints, which she joined in 1997. During her time with the group, Melanie helped them achieve five number-one hits in the UK, win two BRIT Awards, and sell over 10 million albums globally.
In addition to her group work, she’s released solo music with singles like “Do Me Wrong” and “See Me.” She was also a judge on The X Factor NZ in both 2013 and 2015.
Melanie Blatt is thrilled to be joining the Strictly Come Dancing Christmas special! She says, ‘If you can’t dance at Christmas, when can you?’ and is really looking forward to meeting her partner Kai and learning the moves to create a special performance.
