This season of Strictly Come Dancing has seen some great dances, but one pair has really shone, earning the show’s first perfect score.
The contestants, all dressed in spooky costumes, kicked off Halloween Week on the show with a dramatic performance on the dance floor.
Concerns that the extravagant costumes would distract from the dancing proved unfounded when Lewis Cope and Katya Jones performed a swing version of Radiohead’s ‘Creep,’ delivering a captivating performance.
Craig Revel Horwood began clapping softly for the pair before calling their performance “spectacular.” This surprised Tess Daly, who noted that Craig rarely shows such immediate enthusiasm.
Motsi Mabuse also loved the performance, calling it “out of this world” and predicting it would be a memorable moment for years to come.
Anton du Beke offered the highest praise, saying that he and Craig Revel Horwood, having been with the show since the start, considered the dance one of the best they’d ever witnessed.
“There was nothing you could have done to that dance to make it any better.”
Anton announced the final score, building suspense before revealing a perfect 10 – a moment that confirmed this performance as one of the best ever seen on Strictly.
This performance definitely makes them strong contenders to win the show, but they weren’t the only ones who stood out tonight. Judge Motsi Mabuse even said Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington have what it takes to reach the final.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday 2nd November at 7:15pm.
