After Claudia Winkleman and Tess Daly said they’re leaving Strictly Come Dancing following the current season, a surprising new host has been chosen to take their place.
Claudia and Tess announced last week that they’re leaving their hosting roles after over ten years.
During last week’s show, Tess was jokingly acknowledged by the host, La Voix, who said, “Oh Tess, you’re still here!” as she got ready to hear the judges’ comments, which made fellow presenter Daly laugh.
She later asked Claudia for the BBC’s email address for job applications, saying she wanted to be prepared for any future openings.
La Voix didn’t stop there – she surprised everyone tonight by performing with Aljaž Škorjanec herself, then playfully asked Tess Daly how she thought it went. Tess enthusiastically responded, “Nailed it!”
I’ve been absolutely loving watching La Voix try to become the next host of Strictly! It’s hilarious, and I saw someone on X perfectly capture it – they said they’re totally obsessed with La Voix’s campaign to get the job next year, and honestly, same!
Although she’s known for being a great host, it was her incredible dancing that really stood out tonight. Dressed as the Queen of Hearts from Alice in Wonderland, she earned a fantastic score of 35 from both the judges and the audience.
Although the performance was excellent, it didn’t win first place. The judges gave out their first perfect score of the season – a 40 – to another couple.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Sunday 2nd November at 7:15pm.
