With the announcement that Tess Daly and Claudia Winkleman are leaving Strictly Come Dancing this year, everyone’s been guessing who will take their place.
Many potential hosts have been mentioned, such as Janette Manrara and Fleur East from ‘It Takes Two.’ However, The Sun reports that Alex Jones (‘The One Show’) and Bradley Walsh (‘The Chase,’ ‘Doctor Who’) are now the frontrunners to host the new entertainment show.
I’m hearing that Alex and Bradley are the frontrunners to replace Tess and Claudia! Apparently, the BBC has been planning for their departure for a while now and has had both of them in mind as potential replacements for some time. It sounds like it’s been in the works for a while, which is interesting.
Okay, so Bradley and Alex are both really seasoned pros when it comes to live television. Bradley’s the one who brings the funny, cracking jokes and keeping things light, while Alex is the rock – totally cool under pressure, which makes sense considering she’s been co-hosting The One Show for fifteen years. They really balance each other out!
The publication mentioned that plans aren’t finalized, but talks are progressing well.

Daly and Winkleman recently shared that they’ll be leaving Strictly Come Dancing after the upcoming Christmas special, which will be their final appearance on the show.
The pair announced on Instagram that they’ve enjoyed working together and called hosting ‘Strictly’ a dream come true.
“We were always going to leave together and now feels like the right time.
We’re so grateful for the incredible experience of making this series and want to thank the BBC and everyone involved. They’re a fantastic team, and we’ll truly miss working with them.
It’ll be sad to say ‘keep dancing’ for the last time, but we’ll still encourage each other. Maybe someday it’ll be while relaxing at home in comfy clothes, enjoying some pizza.
“Tess & Claud”

Immediately following the announcement, Kate Phillips, the BBC’s head of content, commended the duo, stating they were essential to the show’s achievements.
Phillips expressed his surprise and sadness over Tess and Claudia’s departure from Strictly Come Dancing. He acknowledged their significant contribution as hosts, praising their passion and commitment to the show over the years.
Tess and Claudia have been a vital part of Strictly Come Dancing’s success for the past two decades, and I respect their decision to step down and enjoy their weekends again. They’ve been wonderful presenters – as Craig would say, absolutely fabulous! – and great friends to me and many others at the BBC. Thank you both for everything; we’ll miss you a lot.
Strictly Come Dancing continues on BBC One and iPlayer on Saturday 8th November at 6:25pm.
