Vicky Pattison and Kai Widdrington received their best score yet on Strictly Come Dancing 2025, thanks to a stunning Tango performance that wowed the judges tonight.
The TV star danced to Taylor Swift’s song, “The Fate of Ophelia.” Afterwards, Kai told Claudia Winkleman that the song and dance were a perfect match for her.
I held off telling Vicky this during the week because I wanted to share it with her now,” he explained. “The truth is, Vicky didn’t have to play a role in this dance – she already embodies everything it represents.
Anton was right – dancing with Vicky felt incredible. She was a strong, confident partner, and honestly, she moved like a professional.
Strictly Come Dancing judge Anton Du Beke was amazed by the performance, and even notoriously critical judge Craig Revel Horwood called it “perfect,” only finding a small issue with how Vicky positioned her left hand.
Motsi Mabuse reaffirmed her belief that Pattison could reach the final, saying he was performing exceptionally well. She encouraged him to maintain his current energy, calling his latest dance her favorite of the night.
Shirley Ballas agreed it was the highlight of the show, calling Pattison and Widdrington’s performance truly remarkable.
When the positive feedback started coming in, Strictly host Tess Daly noticed Pattison was trembling with excitement, and their reaction only grew more enthusiastic backstage.

The judges clearly loved the performance, giving the couple three perfect scores of 10 and one 9 (from Craig, as expected). This resulted in the highest score of the week.
Layton Pattison and Nikita Widdrington just beat Amber Davies and Nikita Kuzmin, scoring 38 points, and significantly outperformed Lewis Cope and Katya Jones, who scored 35 last week.
This gives the couple a good chance in this week’s public vote, which will determine who faces elimination after a dance-off. We’ll find out who’s leaving tomorrow night.
You can watch Strictly Come Dancing on Saturdays and Sundays on BBC One and BBC iPlayer. The results show airs on Sunday at 7:10pm.
