Just as the year is ending, another game has been delayed. Styx: Blades of Greed from Cyanide Studio will now release on February 19, 2026, instead of this fall, on Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and PC. A new trailer has been released, but it mainly highlights the game’s protagonist, Styx, and a reference to his wealth – 2026 gold coins, naturally.
The developer, playing the role of the mischievous goblin, explained the delay will take a few more months to refine the game. They want to ensure the goblin’s return is spectacular and lives up to expectations, delivering a polished and exciting adventure, perfectly suited to the character’s unique style.
Styx: Blades of Greed is the third game in the series, and follows Styx as he tries to get his hands on a valuable resource called Quartz. It wouldn’t be simple even if things were calm, but the land is caught in a war between elves, humans, and orcs, forcing Styx to carefully move through the conflict. He teams up with the Black Hand, a group of mercenaries players might recognize from the game Of Orcs and Men, and completes a series of heist-focused missions across three large, open areas.
Players can tackle missions in a variety of ways, and they’ll have access to exciting new powers like time manipulation and mind control. Check out the latest gameplay footage here, and keep an eye out for future updates.
