Subnautica 2 Leaked Document Outlining Content Cut From Early Access is Real, Says Krafton

It appears that Subnautica 2, which initially seemed to be on track for an early release this year, is now experiencing some turbulence. This is due to the leadership of Unknown Worlds being replaced and filing a lawsuit. The parent company Krafton has stated that the current version of early access does not contain enough content, leading to a delay in its release. To add to the intrigue, a leaked document has surfaced, hinting at all the content that was initially planned but later cut.

According to reports, this supposedly involved the deletion of two ecosystems, fewer animal species (including one less monster-like creature), no custom game options, fewer vehicles and tools, and even less storyline content. At first, Krafton didn’t confirm the authenticity of these claims, but later on, through Kotaku’s Ethan Gach, they acknowledged it as true in a bid for open communication.

Krafton explained that they conduct routine “internal checkpoints” to evaluate the advancement of projects, set definite goals, and ensure compliance with their standards. They also confirmed that they will keep collaborating closely with Unknown Worlds to make sure “Subnautica 2” lives up to the expectations of longtime franchise supporters. This statement was made after confirming that the core team working on the game remains unchanged.
