Sucker Punch Would ‘Love’ an inFAMOUS Trilogy on PS5

Sucker Punch wants to bring updated versions of the inFAMOUS franchise to PS5.

As a passionate admirer, I couldn’t help but be thrilled when creative director Nate Fox shared in an interview with Game Informer about Ghost of Yotei, their forthcoming exclusive title, that he yearns to witness the Seattle studio’s past works gracefully upgraded for Sony’s latest generation console.

He said:

I’m really excited about delving deeper into the world of inFAMOUS. I’d be thrilled if they re-released the trilogy, but since Sucker Punch tends to focus on one game at a time, their current priority is completing Ghost of Yotei.

On your PlayStation 5, you can enjoy playing both inFAMOUS: Second Son and its spin-off, inFAMOUS: First Light, through backwards compatibility. However, to play the earlier games, inFAMOUS and inFAMOUS 2, you’ll need to use the cloud streaming service provided by PS Plus Premium.

For quite some time now, fans have been eagerly anticipating that Sony might eventually develop a native version of Cole MacGrath’s electric escapades on the PlayStation 5. However, they haven’t seen any substantial advancements in this regard so far. Interestingly, Sony did manage to re-release Sucker Punch’s previous Sly Cooper trilogy using their PS2 emulator.

As a gamer, I get what Fox means when he talks about his team being all in on the Ghost of Yotei project, but wouldn’t it be fantastic if Sony could bring on more developers to speed up these conversion tasks? That way, we can enjoy new updates and content even faster!

Goodness gracious! With Bluepoint and Nixxes being part of its group, and the latter focusing heavily on bringing first-party games to PC and Xbox, it would certainly be delightful if we could enjoy these timeless classics on contemporary gaming platforms.
