Despite all the buzz surrounding “Ghost of Yōtei” and “Ghost of Tsushima” when they were released in 2020, it’s understandable that Sucker Punch’s other notable franchises might slip one’s mind. Yet, we can’t overlook games like “inFamous”. These open-world superhero titles made a significant impact during the PlayStation 3 era and continued to shine on the PS4 with “inFamous: Second Son”.
After initially playing a significant role, it has since taken a back seat. During an interview with Game Informer, co-director Nate Fox of Ghost of Yōtei expressed his desire to work on more inFamous games and even suggested a trilogy re-release. At present, the studio is primarily focused on completing Ghost of Yōtei, working project by project.
Although it’s wise to avoid absolute statements, a fresh installment of the popular series inFamous might not be imminent in the near future. It’d be intriguing if Sony were to consider a remastered collection of the earlier games and their additional content, tailored for the PS5. Just like how the Ratchet and Clank Collection, Jak and Daxter Collection, and even Sucker Punch’s The Sly Collection are still available on PS3 and PlayStation Vita. We’ll have to wait and see, so keep an eye out for updates!
Regarding the “Ghost of Yōtei”, it will debut on October 2nd exclusively on PS5, and its gameplay duration is similar to that of “Ghost of Tsushima”. However, it offers a wider range of activities. Contrary to speculation, Jin Sakai will not appear in this sequel.
