Bad Bunny wanted fans to just dance.
On February 8th, the Puerto Rican superstar performed at the Apple Music Super Bowl Halftime Show at Levi’s Stadium, and he was joined by some well-known guests.
The 31-year-old artist celebrated his Puerto Rican roots by inviting stars like Cardi B, Alix Earle, and Jessica Alba to perform with him on stage. The crowd was especially thrilled when Ricky Martin and Lady Gaga unexpectedly took the stage to sing.
Lady Gaga, famous for her 2017 Super Bowl Halftime performance, sang “Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars. She then danced with Bad Bunny, showcasing her blue dress which featured a red floral brooch that matched her nails and lipstick.
I was so thrilled to see Ricky Martin not only perform at the game, but also publicly show his support for Bad Bunny! He gave Bad Bunny a shout-out after his incredible Grammy win for Album of the Year – a real testament to recognizing talent and celebrating success within our music community.
In an article for the Puerto Rican newspaper El Nuevo Día, Ricky Martin wrote about Bad Bunny’s success, saying he understands the importance of staying true to your roots while achieving great things. He explained that Bad Bunny’s achievement isn’t just a landmark moment for music, but a triumph for culture and humanity, as reported by Billboard.
He praised her victory, saying she succeeded by remaining authentic and proud of her Puerto Rican heritage, without compromising who she was.
Before his performance, Bad Bunny (whose full name is Benito Antonio Martínez Ocasio) didn’t say anything about whether any guest artists might appear.
He jokingly refused to reveal the details during the Apple Music press conference on February 5th, saying his guests would include family, friends, and fans from the global Latino community.
He continued, “The whole country, there’s so many people who support me around the world.”

Although he didn’t reveal the performers, the famous singer thanked everyone for their worldwide support.
People often stop me, whether it’s on the street or at the airport, and tell me they’re confident I’ll give a fantastic performance at the Super Bowl. I believe the world will be joyful this Sunday, and everyone will enjoy dancing and having fun.

Just a week after winning the Grammy for Album of the Year with Debí Tirar Más Fotos, the performance was a heartfelt expression of thanks.
“Honestly, I’m just not sure what I’m feeling right now,” he said. “There’s a lot going on. I keep telling people I’m still on tour – I was actually at the Grammys just last week.”
He said he’s mostly feeling grateful and happy. He’s taking things one day at a time, focusing on simply living and enjoying the moment, and is looking forward to the upcoming performance.
