Now that The Super Mario Bros. Movie sequel is confirmed for April 2026, excitement is building! Nintendo and Illumination are bringing Mario’s adventures to space, and you can already reserve toys based on the film.
The game will be available in stores on February 20, 2026, but you can pre-order it now at Walmart, Smyths Toys, and other retailers to make sure you get your copy.
The Main Cast Gets the Action Figure Treatment

The first wave of 5-inch action figures from JAKKS Pacific includes everything fans would want: Mario with a yellow Luma companion, Yoshi with several accessories, Rosalina with her iconic wand, and Bowser Jr. with a paintbrush.
The lineup of 1.5-inch mini figures now includes Mario, Luigi, Yoshi, Princess Peach, Bowser Jr., and Wonder Bowser Jr., offering even more characters to collect.
But this ‘Wonder’ version suggests the movie might take inspiration from several different Mario games, not just the Galaxy series. That’s great news for anyone who loves the whole world of Nintendo!
Playsets That Paint a Bigger Picture
The Yoshi Egg Playset offers fun on both sides and includes a special Fire Mario figure. It’s great to see classic power-ups like the Fire Flower still featured, showing the movie respects what fans love about the games. Anyone who enjoyed collecting those power-ups will be pleased!
The most exciting new releases are definitely the Deluxe Bowser’s Castle and the Gateway Galaxy Diorama. The Gateway Galaxy playset is a special nod to where the game starts, and it’s great to see that iconic location recreated. The Bowser’s Castle set ensures the main villain remains a key part of the fun, even with his child potentially becoming more prominent.
Completing the range of collectible items are 9-inch plush toys of Mario, Luigi, and Princess Peach, alongside glow-in-the-dark Luma yoyos.
