Super Promising RPG Digimon Story Time Stranger Gets a PS5 Demo This Week

Update [Tue 9th Sep 2025, 4:15pm]:

Now, just as expected, Bandai Namco has officially announced the scheduled launch dates for the demo of Digimon Story: Cyber Sleuth – Hackers Memory, which was previously unveiled.

The demonstration is scheduled to start by the end of this week, specifically on September 11th. At the moment, there isn’t any information about what aspects of the game will be included in this preview. Let’s keep our fingers crossed that it offers a significant portion of the RPG’s initial playtime.

It’s been confirmed by the producer that a playable demo for Digimon Story: Time Stranger will become available sometime prior to the game’s release.

As a fervent admirer, I excitedly share that, in an engaging chat with Gamersky (thanks to Gematsu’s keen eyes), the gracious producer Ryosuke Hara hinted at the demo becoming accessible “soon”. However, he was cautious not to disclose a specific date just yet.

It’s likely that we’ll hear an official update from Bandai Namco soon, possibly in the upcoming two weeks. If all goes as planned, Time Stranger is set to launch on October 3rd.

If you’ve been out of the loop, the latest Digimon RPG seems incredibly promising for quite some time. Previews have consistently praised it, gameplay videos look impressive, and based on the evident marketing investment, the publisher appears confident in what could potentially be the largest Digimon game to date.

Hopefully, the forthcoming demonstration will provide us with a sense of whether Time Stranger will meet our expectations.

It’s quite possible that the demo will include the initial part of the game, enabling players to continue their progress in the complete version. This appears to be a common approach for RPG demos nowadays.
