Supergirl Teaser Video Shows New Footage of Milly Alcock DCU Movie

A new Supergirl teaser video has been released ahead of the DCU movie’s upcoming trailer.

Next summer, audiences will be able to see the new Supergirl movie in theaters and IMAX across the United States. Directed by Craig Gillespie, the film stars Milly Alcock returning as Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl. She previously appeared as the character in a brief scene at the end of James Gunn’s 2025 film, Superman.

The first trailer for the Supergirl movie is coming out on Thursday, December 11, 2025, as previously announced. Director James Gunn recently shared a quick, 15-second video to get fans excited about the trailer’s arrival, following the release of a new movie poster.

What do we see in the Supergirl teaser video?

Even though it’s short, the Supergirl video shows Kara flying and offers DC fans their first look at the planet Krypton in the new DC Universe. The video ends with Kara and Ruthye Marye Knoll being cornered and threatened by armed men.

In the series Supergirl, Eve Ridley will portray Ruthye Marye Knoll. The cast also features Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, Jason Momoa as Lobo, and Ferdinand Kingsley as Elias Knoll.

The movie draws inspiration from the 2021 comic book series, Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, written by Tom King and illustrated by Bilquis Evely. The story centers on Kara Zor-El, also known as Supergirl, who feels lost and without purpose. Having escaped the destruction of her home planet to protect a cousin who ultimately didn’t need protecting, she questions the meaning of her life. She’s constantly overshadowed by Superman’s reputation. Just when she’s about to give up, her life takes a turn when an alien girl arrives seeking help with a dangerous mission. This girl’s planet has been destroyed, and she’s determined to get revenge on those responsible, even if it means sacrificing everything. Together, Supergirl, a dog, and this heartbroken young alien embark on a transformative journey through space.

Supergirl arrives on June 26, 2026.
