In addition to Superman and Supergirl’s altruistic purposes, it’s plausible that another Kryptonian, such as General Zod, might surface in a future film, executing Jor-El’s original plan for Earth conquest. While the story of Superman appears to be concluded neatly, there are a few themes director James Gunn could explore further in a sequel.
