Superman: New Krypto DCU Short Movie Sets Streaming Release Date

A new DCU short movie featuring Superman’s Krypto arrives on HBO Max next week.

Krypto the Superdog recently appeared in the new Superman movie from DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures, written and directed by James Gunn. You can now watch the film on HBO Max.

Last month, after the release of the *Superman* movie, DC Studios and Warner Bros. Animation launched the first episode of *Krypto Saves the Day!* This animated series features four short episodes where Superman’s dog, Krypto, uses his superpowers to help solve ordinary problems around the city of Metropolis.

When is Krypto’s new DCU short movie being released?

The newest Krypto Saves the Day special, “Halloween Haunt,” will premiere on HBO Max on Wednesday, October 1, 2025.

The new animated shorts series, “Krypto Saves the Day!,” brings the popular Superman character Krypto back for more fun adventures. Following his successful debut, Krypto uses his superpowers to help with everyday problems in Metropolis, from rescuing people on the school bus to saving spring break cruises and even handling Halloween candy emergencies. The series is filled with action, comedy, and mischief, making it enjoyable for viewers of all ages.

The upcoming Supergirl movie, directed by Craig Gillespie and scheduled for release on June 26, 2026, will also feature Krypto. The film is based on the comic book series ‘Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow’ by Tom King and Bilquis Evely, with a script by Ana Nogueira. The cast includes Milly Alcock as Supergirl (Kara Zor-El), Matthias Schoenaerts as Krem of the Yellow Hills, Eve Ridley as Ruthye Marye Knoll, David Krumholtz as Zor-El, Emily Beecham as Alura In-Ze, and Jason Momoa as Lobo.
