Jo Frost is spreading awareness by opening up on a lifelong health battle.
The famous former star of “Supernanny”, who was at the helm of the ABC series from 2005 to 2011 and also led a brief revival in 2020, recently took to social media to discuss her encounter with anaphylaxis – a severe, potentially fatal response to allergens that affects the entire body.
In Jo’s recent Instagram post on July 12th, they mentioned that they have experienced more anaphylactic shocks than they feel comfortable discussing at this time. To clarify, Jo has Anaphylaxis, a severe medical condition triggered by certain foods that can lead to such extreme reactions within their body that hospitalization becomes necessary.
As a passionate devotee, I simply couldn’t keep quiet about my eye-opening encounter. I felt compelled to share it, hoping to increase understanding of this significant health issue. You might be surprised to learn that, according to the Allergy and Asthma Network, an astonishing 51% of adults and 42% of children in the United States have food allergies severe enough to trigger anaphylaxis.
A vast multitude within my global community, both young and old, are treading carefully and uneasily on this path, receiving far too little kindness, knowledge, and understanding from those uninvolved,” Jo said. “It’s crucial to recognize that anaphylaxis affects someone close to all of us today.
According to Jo, if you disregard the seriousness of this health issue, it’s like pointing a loaded gun at me.
Because the ex-TV personality built her career on assisting families with young kids, she underscored the significance of understanding and acknowledging the risks associated with anaphylactic reactions.
She stated emphatically, “I don’t make excuses for my health condition, but it significantly influences my daily living. For instance, I have to be extra cautious, like carefully assessing whether someone really knows their stuff when we’re dining out, or if they’re just guessing because they don’t feel like checking with the chef in the kitchen. It often means that ‘may contain’ labels are accurate, and they use them as a legal loophole to avoid responsibility, prioritizing profits over my safety.
In fact, the knowledgeable caretaker explained that dismissing food aversions linked to health issues such as celiac disease, under the assumption they are just popular diets, could pose serious risks for those suffering from these conditions.
In my perspective as a lifestyle guide, I’m not seeking special treatment; instead, I yearn for the same respect, consideration, and attention you extend to others. I don’t ask for your silent slights, veiled criticisms, or indifference. What I request is your readiness to learn, educate your team, revise policies, menus, workspaces, school curriculums, event venues, and so on, to ensure inclusivity for all children – because we are all the world’s children in essence. Also, I seek empathy, understanding, and compassion from you, as we navigate through our shared journey together.
Jo concluded her social media post by encouraging her audience to increase their knowledge about anaphylaxis. She emphasized that there are numerous individuals making significant strides in this area. Therefore, she invited everyone to be intrigued and delve deeper into the subject, since as previously mentioned, we all have someone close to us who might be affected.

Currently, from my knees down to my toes, there’s a strange tingling sensation, which is quite unexpected,” he remarked during the March 2025 episode of his Trading Secrets podcast. “To clarify, about two to three weeks ago, or perhaps a month ago, I was squatting around 295 pounds. At present, I’m unable to perform a squat even on one foot. I can’t manage a one-legged squat; if I try, I lose balance. It feels as though I’ve had a stroke or something similar.
But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Life, as I now understand it, can change in the blink of an eye, and so I urge everyone to cherish each precious moment by wrapping your loved ones in a warm, tender hug whenever the chance arises.
In a surprising turn of events, Amy Schumer is grateful that the internet, despite not always being a friendly space, provided her with answers concerning her health. After facing criticism following several interviews, she jokingly urged everyone to calm down. However, medical professionals chimed in with comments suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome due to unusually high cortisol levels or steroid injections. Realizing that she had indeed been receiving steroid injections for her scars, Amy connected the dots and found out that this was likely causing her Cushing syndrome, a condition she would not have known about without the internet’s scrutiny. Today, Amy is relieved to know that she is healthy and will recover from this condition.
In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a terrifying incident during breakfast with husband Justin Bieber. She suddenly began experiencing symptoms similar to a stroke, including slurred speech and facial drooping. Hailey later shared her experience on YouTube, explaining that she couldn’t respond or speak properly when Justin asked if she was okay.
Upon going to the hospital, doctors found a small blood clot in Hailey’s brain, which they classified as a Transient Ischemic Attack (TIA). Further tests at the University of California, Los Angeles revealed that Hailey had a hole in her heart called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). The blood clot had traveled through this hole into her heart and then escaped to her brain, causing the TIA.
Hailey underwent a successful PFO closure procedure and is now feeling well again.
In the same year when Hailey went through her health crisis, Justin Bieber also faced a health issue of his own. Specifically, in June 2022, the “Baby” singer revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome. This condition affected parts of his face, causing temporary paralysis and leading to the cancellation of the rest of his Justice World Tour.
Explaining the situation on Instagram, Justin stated that the virus attacking the nerve in his ear and facial nerves resulted in facial paralysis. He mentioned that his eye was not blinking, he couldn’t smile from one side of his face, and his nostril wouldn’t move – meaning there was full paralysis on one side of his face. However, he told his followers that it became increasingly difficult to eat, but eventually, the paralysis subsided.
Hailey shared on a June 2022 episode of Good Morning America that Justin is doing well now and feeling much better. She acknowledged that the situation was scary and unexpected but expressed her gratitude that he is recovering.
Jamie Foxx initially chose to keep secret the details of his hospitalization in April 2023, but later shared his experiences. In Atlanta, he recalled saying, “I had such a severe headache, so I asked my friend for an aspirin.” However, before he could get it, he fainted and lost consciousness for about 20 days.
A doctor initially administered him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister Deidra Dixon then took him to the hospital where they discovered he had a brain hemorrhage that caused a stroke. Twenty days after surgery on May 4, Foxx woke up in a wheelchair unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy.
“All I can say is that I appreciate every prayer,” he said, “because I needed every prayer.
Emilia Clarke filmed intense battle sequences for Game of Thrones, but in 2019, she penned an essay in The New Yorker titled “My Life’s Battle.” At the gym, she experienced severe headaches that led to vomiting and worsening pain. She suspected a brain injury, which was confirmed when she underwent a hospital scan. Diagnosed with a subarachnoid hemorrhage, an extremely critical type of stroke, Emilia had an emergency operation to repair the aneurysm. The procedure was agonizing, and during recovery, she struggled with aphasia, speaking nonsensical words.
A week later, her aphasia subsided, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month. However, a 2013 scan revealed that the growth had doubled in size, necessitating another surgery. Upon waking from this operation, she was in excruciating pain as it had failed. The doctors informed her that her chances of survival were slim if they didn’t operate again, and this time they needed to access her brain through her skull.
Fortunately, Emilia reported that she’s now fully recovered and in perfect health.
Cori Broadus, the daughter of renowned artist Snoop Dogg, expresses her gratitude for her family’s support.
This is because, following a severe stroke in January 2024, her loved ones immediately rushed to be by her side.
In an interview with TopMob News‘ correspondent Will Marfuggi in December 2024, Cori recounted, “I texted them that I had just experienced a stroke and sent them a picture. Everyone came to my aid.”
Due to additional health issues, Cori’s stay at the hospital extended beyond her initial expectation.
“Initially, I could have been discharged after my stroke,” she continued from her role in Snoop’s Fatherhood: Cori and Wayne’s Story. “However, my lupus wasn’t in good shape. My kidneys were failing. There was a lot happening.”
Today, Cori is on the path to recovery.
“I’m doing well,” she added. “I just needed to regain some motor skills, but other than that, I was fine.
During her twenties, the health challenges for actress Shailene Woodley were considerable. Her hearing began to deteriorate, walking even short distances left her needing lengthy rests, and everything she ate caused discomfort in her stomach. The actress spoke about this on a September 2024 episode of the SHE MD Podcast. She was diagnosed with a complex mix of health issues, but different doctors offered conflicting advice.
To find answers, Shailene—who has a background in holistic healing and herbalism—decided to seek out solutions from both conventional medical professionals and independent healers. This quest for understanding took ten years.
During that decade, the discomfort she felt physically led to other issues such as fear of food due to stomach pain, which in turn caused mental distress including body dysmorphia, confusion about her identity, and feelings of unease in her own skin.
Now, after focusing on both her physical and mental well-being, Shailene is feeling much better. She shared that, “Throughout that decade, a lot of other things came from feeling so much discomfort physically, which was, ‘My gosh, if everything I eat hurts my stomach, I’m now suddenly afraid of food.’ And then going into the kind of mental fckery that can happen with that of body dysmorphia and confusion about identity and feeling safe in my own capsule, in my own skin, what that meant, and what that should be.”
She is grateful to report that her health has since improved significantly. “It was a journey that ultimately physically resolved itself, and I am very healthy,” she stated happily.
