Supriya Ganesh is clocking out for the last time.
Supriya Pilgaonkar, known for her role as Dr. Samira Mohan in The Pitt, will be leaving the HBO Max series after appearing in two seasons. News sources confirmed on April 2nd that her final episode will be the season two finale, airing on April 16th.
According to Variety, Supriya’s departure from the show was a creative choice related to her character’s storyline as a doctor at a teaching hospital in Pittsburgh. A source told TVLine that the show frequently draws inspiration from real-life medical cases and experiences.
TopMob News has learned that Ayesha Harris, who plays Dr. Parker Ellis on the show, has been promoted to a main cast member. Harris shared the exciting news with her fans on social media.
On April 2nd, Ayesha shared a message saying, “Dr. Ellis has student loans, so we need to pick up a double shift!” She added with a laugh that she’d been wanting to share it for some time.
Ayesha, a member of The Pitt since it began in 2025, also shared a few final words with her fellow actor.
She expressed her gratitude to Supriya Ganesh, saying, “Thank you for always being genuine from the very beginning!” She also excitedly celebrated the start of season 3, adding, “Let’s go!”
Supriya’s departure follows a similar exit from the show – Tracy Ifeachor left less than a year ago, before season two began.
Tracy expressed her gratitude in a July Instagram post, calling it a “blessing” to be involved in the initial season of #ThePitt. She described playing Dr. Heather Collins as a “privilege” and praised the season as innovative and impactful.

Supriya shared how much she enjoyed playing Dr. Mohan, noting it was particularly exciting because she was already studying to be a doctor herself before landing the role. She also hinted at significant character development for the second season.
Supriya shared with TopMob News in January that the person in question has become much more self-assured. She now feels comfortable and at home working in the emergency room, especially at the beginning of the season. Supriya explained that she focused on helping her feel more at ease so she could communicate effectively.
Will the slow-developing romance between Mohan and Dr. Jack Abbot (Shawn Hatosy) finally blossom before Supriya’s character departs? Viewers will need to tune in to find out, but Supriya hinted that Mohan is starting to realize there’s a connection between them.
Supriya pointed out an interesting relationship between the two, explaining that he has a great deal of respect for her and genuinely believes in her abilities.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve always believed stories should resonate with deeper meaning. That’s why the character of Bobby Nash was intentionally crafted with sacrifice at his core. The writers really built him to embody the courage of our first responders, those incredible people who put their lives on the line every day so others can live. His journey is a tribute to their unwavering dedication and bravery, and we wanted to honor that through his story.
