Days Gone Remastered is the newest PlayStation 5 game to support Sony’s Power Saver mode, helping players reduce energy consumption.
Sony has been slowly adding support for this feature, ever since it became available in a recent console software update.
We haven’t had a chance to try this feature in the open-world game from Bend Studio yet, but we recently discovered that choosing a specific option can significantly lower the power consumption of Demon’s Souls.
This, however, comes at the expense of image quality and frame rate.
I’ve been hearing rumors that Sony might be planning a handheld console, and this new feature feels like a step towards that. It’s like developers are already getting ready to make games that will work well on a smaller, portable device down the line.
Although it’s not yet official, it’s notable that the console maker seems to be asking its own game studios to help enable this feature. We’re wondering if popular games like God of War Ragnarok and Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 will receive updates to support it as well.
