WildArts, the studio behind games like Caput Mortum and Born of Bread, just revealed Fright Train. This new game is a survival horror experience set on a train overrun by monsters in Antarctica, and it’s planned to release on PC via Steam in 2026.
Here is an overview of the game, via its Steam page:
About
Play as Doug Barker, a paranormal agent, and fight to survive against terrifying monsters on a train and in the freezing cold of Antarctica in this scary, single-player horror game.
Setting
I’m Doug Barker, and I’m a brand new agent at P.A.W. – that’s the Paranormal Agency Worldwide. I just started working there, so everything is pretty new to me!
A distress call came from the L.R.S. Great White, a strange research facility on rails located in Antarctica and operated by the private, secretive company SHARK.
Following guidance from headquarters, navigate the train and stop the terrifying creatures SHARK has unleashed!
Don’t let it stop! If it does, you could freeze or be attacked by terrifying creatures.
Gameplay
Explore a research station filled with puzzles and monsters! You’ll need to solve challenges to unlock new parts of the station and battle frost zombies, but most importantly, keep the train moving at all costs!
- Explore a high-speed locomotive as it tears through the Antarctic ice cap.
- Monitor the train’s equipment as it deteriorates.
- Repair minor malfunctions before they become major.
- Jack into encrypted terminals and interface with the train’s systems.
- Survive the cold and fight off the horrifying creatures that lurk outside.
Key Features
- Intense gore and a gorgeous mid-2000s-inspired aesthetic.
- Meaningful and tactical inventory management.
- A volatile combat ecosystem in which enemy behaviors intertwine, allowing them to support or sabotage one another.
- A chilling story that doesn’t take itself too seriously.
