Syberia Remastered, the captivating narrative adventure game by Virtuallyz Gaming and Microids, has now set a release date! Mark your calendars for November 6, as the game will be available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. Notably, there’ll be a limited physical edition of
In addition to its release on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S, Microids has also announced that a VR version of the game, titled “Syberia Remastered“, is set to launch this year. This VR edition will be available exclusively on Meta Quest 3, with its debut scheduled for November 13.
Originally titled “Syberia,” developed by Benoît Sokal, was initially launched in 2002 and received high praise from critics. This adventure game casts players as Kate Walker, a New York lawyer who embarks on a quest to locate Hans Voralberg. The updated version will boast enhanced graphics, smoother animations, and a more contemporary user interface designed for a more intuitive player experience. However, the narrative of the game remains unchanged in the remastered release.
The remastered version of Syberia, which was recently announced, shared numerous screenshots earlier this year. In these announcements, the developers mentioned that while the game’s main storyline would remain the same, they planned to revamp certain gameplay aspects such as environmental puzzles for a more seamless and user-friendly experience for players.
Back in May, the debut trailer for the remaster was unveiled. This trailer highlighted the game’s traditional point-and-click adventure style, similar to the original Syberia. Just like the original Syberia, Syberia Remastered will employ high-resolution pre-rendered backdrops, allowing players to maneuver their character and engage with various items within these scenes.
In Syberia Remastered, players are given an opportunity to revisit the series’ original starting point, with the latest installment being Syberia: The World Before in 2022. This game presents players with two primary characters and a narrative that unfolds across nearly a century. It is divided into two distinct time periods: 1937 and 2004. During the sections set in 1937, players delve into Dana Roze’s storyline. Meanwhile, the segments occurring in 2004 focus on Kate Walker as she explores a salt mine while uncovering her links to Roze.
The game titled “Syberia: The World Before” is playable on PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch. For additional information about the game, you might want to watch the trailer released in celebration of its PS5 launch, which features scenes of Roze and Walker navigating challenging situations within their environment.

In our assessment, we awarded this adventure game a rating of 6 out of 10. We commended its rich world and characters, but found issues with poor lip-syncing, unnatural dialogue, and generally underwhelming voice acting.
