Sydney Sweeney has responded to speculation that she could be cast as a Bond Girl in James Bond 26.
Ever since Amazon MGM Studios took over the James Bond franchise earlier this year, speculation has been rampant about who will be chosen to play the next 007. Producers Michael G. Wilson and Barbara Broccoli are stepping back, adding to the mystery.
According to reports, Jeff Bezos, the founder of Amazon, is hoping Anya Taylor-Joy will appear as a Bond Girl in the upcoming 2028 James Bond film. However, she’s only interested if she likes the storyline.
“Depends on the script,” she said. “I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.”
Previous Bond Girls have included Gemma Arterton, Ursula Andress, Eva Green and Halle Berry.
Speculation about Sweeney potentially becoming the next Bond girl increased in June after she was seen attending the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez in Venice.
I was reading in The Sun that Sydney Sweeney is apparently the frontrunner to play the next Bond Girl! What’s even more interesting is that Jeff Bezos and director Denis Villeneuve are both reportedly supporting her for the role. It sounds like a pretty powerful combination backing her chances!

There’s also been plenty of speculation around who will play the new Bond in James Bond 26.
According to a September report from Deadline, director Denis Villeneuve plans to start looking for the next James Bond actor in 2026, once he finishes working on Dune: Part Three.
I’m hearing that Denis Villeneuve and the team are really looking for someone new to play the lead – a complete unknown, ideally in their late 20s or early 30s. They’re planning to film in 2027, with the movie expected to come out in 2028, so they’ve got time to find the perfect person!
Using this method would eliminate Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Jack Lowden as potential James Bond actors, as they would both be 37 years old when filming for the next Bond movie starts.
The report specifies the new actor must be male and from the British Isles, meaning actors like Timothée Chalamet, Glen Powell, Austin Butler, and Jacob Elordi, who aren’t British or Irish, are unlikely to be considered for the part.
