Sydney Sweeney Shares Her Dating Goals Amid Scooter Braun Romance

Actress Sydney Sweeney, who has been rumored to be dating Scooter Braun since June 2025, recently shared her thoughts on love and what she wants in a partner.

In a recent interview with Cosmopolitan, published on January 29th, Sydney described love as feeling like “total freedom.” She explained it by referencing a scene from The Princess Diaries, saying, “It’s like when Anne Hathaway kisses the right guy and her foot pops up – that’s exactly what love feels like.”

Oh my gosh, he said the lights will just magically turn on! And then the birds will start flying, and the fountains will just erupt with water! It’s like he gets it, you know? Love is a Disney movie – it really is! It’s all so perfect and dreamy, just like everything he does.

Sydney has been dating music executive Scooter Braun since June 2025. They first met at the wedding of Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez in Italy. News outlets confirmed their relationship in September of that year. Scooter had separated from his wife, Yael Cohen Braun, in 2021 after seven years of marriage.

According to People magazine, the pair have been spotted together on several occasions recently, including a trip to Europe for New Year’s and earlier this month at Dave & Buster’s in Hollywood.

Sydney has a different take on the focus on her personal life, choosing not to discuss details about who she’s dating in her interview.

She explained to Cosmo that she often hopes for a typical dating experience, but it frequently ends up feeling very unusual. She admitted it’s a bit disheartening.

The founder of Syrn lingerie, who split from her fiancé Jonathan Davino in March 2025 after seven years, explained that she values her privacy. She acknowledged being in the public eye, but said, ‘I’m still in my 20s and learning about love, and it’s difficult to navigate that when so many people have opinions about what it should look like.’

I spent my twenties really focused on my career, and now I’m ready to start enjoying life and having new experiences,” she explained. “It’s just a bit difficult figuring out how to handle romance when everyone is watching. I’m still learning as I go.”

Sydney is still looking for the perfect partner, and she knows exactly what she wants: someone who feels like a best friend. She envisions a relationship where she can comfortably spend time together, share her thoughts, collaborate on ideas, and generally enjoy each other’s company.

She describes herself as athletic, outgoing, and funny, and emphasizes her independence and self-sufficiency. She’s in charge of her own life, pursues her goals, and is confident and successful without needing a partner. She values her close friendships with a supportive group of women, and admits this can be intimidating to men. She needs someone who is secure enough to handle her strong personality and the life she’s built.

Shortly before news of their split became official, Sydney was seen at a wedding with Glen Powell—the actor she was first linked to romantically during promotion for their 2023 movie, Anyone But You. However, Glen’s mother, Cyndy Powell, quickly dismissed the rumors, telling the Daily Mail in 2025 that Sydney is just a family friend.
