Sources say Sydney Sweeney will make a brief appearance in the upcoming sequel to The Devil Wears Prada.
Entertainment Weekly reports that a scene featuring the Euphoria star was removed from the final cut of the movie, and it would have originally appeared near the beginning.
Sydney Sweeney is enjoying a very successful 2026, with popular projects like The Housemaid, the continuation of Euphoria, and the start of a new Gundam movie. However, even her rising popularity couldn’t boost the performance of her small role in the upcoming sequel starring Anne Hathaway and Meryl Streep.
In the new movie, Anne Hathaway, Meryl Streep, and Stanley Tucci reprise their roles as Andy, Miranda, and Nigel. They’re forced to work together again to fix the reputation of Runway magazine after a mysterious scandal.
During their journey, the three friends turn to Emily Charlton, now a manager at Dior, for assistance.

According to Entertainment Weekly, Sydney Sweeney’s part in the project took place at the Dior offices. She portrayed a fictionalized version of herself alongside Emily Blunt, who played one of her clients.
Sadly, Sweeney’s scene was ultimately removed from the final version, reportedly because it didn’t fit with the overall flow of the story.
TopMob has reached out to 20th Century Studios and Sweeney’s reps for comment.
I loved how many recognizable faces popped up in the first movie – Heidi Klum and even Valentino Garavani made appearances! From what I’ve heard, the sequel is planning to keep that going, with lots more celebrity cameos to look out for.
Though Joaquin Phoenix’s character, Sweeney, won’t be in the finished movie, Lady Gaga will make a special appearance and also contributed significantly to the soundtrack, joining artists like Doechii and Madonna.
We’ll have to wait to see what other cameos did make the cut when the film is released on May 1st.
