Just a reminder that Split Fiction, the fantastic co-op action-adventure game from Hazelight Studios, is being made into a movie.
Josef Fares, the director and lead developer of the game adaptation, recently shared a brief update, indicating that the project is currently in its initial stages of development.
Speaking to Moviezine (translations per Dexerto), he says he’s seen the first finalised script:
I received a first draft of the script today, but you have to take everything you hear in Hollywood with a grain of salt. I always say, I need to see proof before I believe something will actually happen.
He’s often complained about the slow pace of the film industry, so it’s encouraging to hear his script has reached Fares for consideration – that’s a step forward.
Sydney Sweeney is expected to star in the movie, and director Fares has confirmed he’s discussed the project with her. He describes her as relaxed and enthusiastic about being involved.
It’s probably years away, but it does seem like things are moving in the right direction.
