SZA Says Nicki Minaj Is “Having a Moment” Amid Online Feud

SZA is hitting snooze on her back and forth with Nicki Minaj. 

In response to the “Super Bass” rapper’s ongoing criticism towards the “Kill Bill” singer and other stars like Jay-Z and Megan Thee Stallion on social media, SZA has shown no fear in defending herself. Notably, after Nicki Minaj labeled her a “fake girl’s girl,” the 35-year-old quickly retaliated with a response of her own.

“Lol ur having a moment,” SZA replied to Nicki over X July 16. “I’m not sure why but be blessed.”

In Nicki’s first message, she shared a clip from the 2018 Met Gala event where it appears that Rihanna didn’t notice when SZA tried to get her attention as she entered the gathering on the stairs.

Nicki stated, in response to the video, “These are the girls who pose as friends but speak negatively about you, yet will still chase you for a photograph or act friendly on camera to disguise their true hatred.” She further added, “It feels incredibly liberating to truly be oneself.

Although SZA and Rihanna do not appear together in the video, they have had cordial interactions in public before. SZA has even posted about these friendly encounters on social media. Furthermore, SZA was a part of Rihanna’s 2016 album, ANTI, where she sang alongside Rihanna on one of the tracks.

Regarding SZA and Nicki Minaj, SZA claimed that she turned down Nicki’s requests for a collaboration on one of her songs titled “Starships”.

You’re certainly familiar with my music and the value I bring, since you’ve requested collaborations from me on two separate occasions without a response,” SZA wrote in her July 16 post on X.
