We’ll Have To Wait & See Whether Waititi’s Film Is a Priority for Lucasfilm

Taika Waititi is known for working on big franchises like Star Wars and Marvel. His film Thor: Ragnarok was a hit and revitalized the Thor series, but Thor: Love & Thunder wasn’t as successful. Reports indicate his Star Wars script shares a similar playful and humorous style with those Marvel movies. While Waititi’s popularity has dipped slightly since he started writing the script in 2020, he remains a highly respected and talented writer and director.

Kathleen Kennedy is stepping down from her leadership role at Lucasfilm and with Star Wars, though she’ll remain a producer on The Mandalorian and Grogu and Shawn Levy’s Star Wars: Starfighter.
