Tamar Braxton Slams Rumors She Had Affair With Toni Braxton’s Husband

Tamar Braxton is here for all the love and none of the war. 

Following an accusation on their TV show, The Braxtons, that Tamar had an affair with one of Toni Braxton’s former partners, rumors spread online suggesting the relationship was with Toni’s husband, Birdman. However, Tamar quickly dismissed these claims.

“Where did that rumor even start?” Tamar, age 48, questioned on the December 16th episode of Sherri. “It’s completely ridiculous!”

The singer known as “Love and War” recently revealed that her relationship with Birdman (Bryan Christopher Williams) was just a friendship, even before he married Toni in 2024.

I actually introduced Toni to her husband,” she said. “Bryan and I were just friends, really close platonic friends. He’d dated a friend of mine years before, and when they split up, Bryan and I got closer. He and Slim – that’s Ronald Jay Williams – were trying to get me signed to Cash Money Records back then. It was a long time ago.

Even though Toni Braxton was married to Keri Lewis and they had two children, Denim (24) and Diezel (22), Birdman made it known he was interested in her romantically.

Then he began talking about my sister,” she continued. “I told him, ‘You know she’s married. Please just go sit down somewhere.’

Tamar explained that after Toni’s divorce, he really pursued a relationship with her.

Despite currently appearing happy together, Birdman and Toni Braxton briefly faced divorce proceedings shortly after their secret wedding. According to reports from TMZ, Toni initially filed for divorce, but she later withdrew the petition in January 2025, with Birdman, age 56, also agreeing to the dismissal.

Tamar, who shares 12-year-old son Logan with her ex-husband Vincent Herbert, wants to make it clear that she and the rapper will always be family, despite any past issues.

“That’s my brother,” she said. “That’s my blood now. He’s married to my sister.”
