Tara Reid Says She Was Hospitalized After Being Drugged at Hotel Bar

Tara Reid is speaking out after a casual outing took a frightening turn.

The actress from American Pie shared that she was hospitalized while visiting Chicago, and she suspects she was drugged. She described the experience as deeply upsetting.

The woman, who is 50 years old, checked into her hotel and then went to the bar for a glass of wine. She left her drink at the bar briefly to go outside and have a cigarette. When she came back, she noticed a napkin had been put on top of her glass.

She told TMZ in an interview on November 24th that she was confused when she noticed something unusual in her drink. She didn’t remember much after taking a sip, and quickly passed out. She woke up eight hours later in the hospital.

According to the actress from Sharknado, doctors said she had been drugged after she woke up at the Chicago Sports Spectacular on November 23rd. She remembers being told this, but didn’t ask them what drug she had been given.

Tara went to her event as scheduled after her agent picked her up from the hospital. Although she said the experience felt like “a big blur,” she was thankful it happened in a place where people could help.

It was a really frightening experience,” she said. “I’m just thankful I was in a public place with security nearby to assist me.

Tara also cautioned others to be mindful about leaving their beverages unattended.

She emphasized that many things could have easily gone wrong, and everyone needs to understand that.

“I don’t know what that stuff was,” she added, “but whatever it is, it knocked me out immediately.”

TopMob News has reached out to Tara’s rep for comment but has not heard back.

She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.

She explained that growing up, she was taught to expect period pain and accept it as a normal part of being female. This often leaves people feeling like they’re dealing with a difficult experience on their own, when it actually affects many of us.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, causing a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.

Someone messaged Suki on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, asking why she hadn’t posted recently. The message jokingly explained the silence by saying the sender had suffered a hernia six months prior from wearing very tight pants, and hadn’t wanted to share the information.

“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms all over my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—they said I could have died within the last year.”

He explained that his pain is intermittent, and described having some physical imperfections, saying, “My body just has a few things that aren’t quite right.”

A former contestant on The Bachelor recently went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He said he was in so much pain he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain worsened during a road trip with a friend.

He described a persistent tingling sensation in his legs, saying, “Even now, bringing my knees to my chest, it still feels tingly, which is really strange.” To give some context, he explained that just a few weeks or a month ago, he was able to squat 295 pounds. Now, he can’t even do a squat, or even stand on one leg without falling, describing the feeling as if he’d had a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

I was really worried to hear about my favorite actress’s health, but she shared that a small piece of something got stuck behind her eye. I’m sending her all my best and hoping for a full recovery!

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, even though it can be harsh, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier,” she was surprised to see doctors commenting on her appearance online, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome. They pointed out changes in her face that concerned them. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section, which can sometimes cause the condition. Without the online comments, she wouldn’t have connected the injections to her symptoms. Amy recently shared that she’s relieved to have a form of Cushing syndrome that will resolve on its own and that she’s healthy.

Oh my gosh, you won’t BELIEVE what happened to him! Back in December 2024, during a game, he was accidentally cut by another player’s skate – it was awful! He needed 25 stitches, twenty-five! Thankfully, he’s fully recovered now, but his dad, Tom Fitzgerald – you know, the Devils GM? – told ESPN how incredibly lucky they were. He said, and I quote, ‘We’re very lucky. I don’t wish that on any parent.’ It was just so scary, and I was so relieved when I heard he was okay. Honestly, I can’t even imagine what his dad went through!

Oh my gosh, I was SO worried about Hailey! Can you believe what happened to her? She was just having breakfast with Justin in March 2022, and she started having this terrifying experience. She said Justin kept asking if she was okay, but she couldn’t even respond! She tried to talk, but the words just wouldn’t come out, and the right side of her face started to droop. It sounded so scary! Thankfully, it stopped, but she went to the hospital, which she absolutely should have. They discovered she’d had a tiny blood clot travel to her brain – it was called a TIA. Later, they found out she actually had a small hole in her heart, a PFO, and that’s how the clot got through! It ‘escaped’ into her heart and then to her brain. Thankfully, she had surgery to close the hole, and she says she’s feeling amazing now. I’m just so relieved she’s okay! It was such a frightening ordeal, but she’s so strong for sharing everything.

It was a really tough year for both Justin and Hailey. Not long after Hailey’s health scare, Justin revealed he was battling Ramsay Hunt syndrome. He shared a video explaining how it caused paralysis on one side of his face – he couldn’t blink, smile, or even move his nostril on that side. He even said it was becoming harder and harder for him to eat. It was so scary to watch him go through that! Thankfully, after a while, the paralysis went away. Hailey shared on Good Morning America that he was doing really well and feeling much better. It was a random and frightening experience, but she was so grateful he was going to be okay, and honestly, so was I. It was such a relief to see him recovering.

Jamie Foxx recently shared details about the health scare he experienced in April 2023, which he had initially kept private. In his 2024 Netflix special, What Had Happened Was…, he explained that he was suffering from a severe headache when he suddenly lost consciousness. He doesn’t remember the next 20 days.

Initially, a doctor gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but his sister, Deidra Dixon, was worried and took him to the hospital. Doctors discovered he had a brain bleed that caused a stroke.

After surgery, Jamie woke up in a wheelchair on May 4th, unable to walk. He then traveled to Chicago for rehabilitation and therapy. He expressed his gratitude for all the prayers he received, saying he needed every single one.

The reality TV star shared that she briefly stopped breathing while running in the first challenge of the NBC competition show, describing the experience as feeling like ‘dying’.

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced a bright light, leading her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where your body essentially starts to shut down.

Emilia Clarke, known for her role in Game of Thrones, revealed a harrowing health battle in a 2019 essay for The New Yorker. While filming the show, she experienced a sudden, severe headache while at the gym. She described collapsing and being violently ill, realizing something was seriously wrong with her brain.

After being taken to the hospital, doctors discovered she had suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage – a life-threatening stroke caused by bleeding around the brain. The cause was a ruptured aneurysm, and she immediately underwent surgery to repair it. The pain was excruciating, and during her recovery, she experienced aphasia, leaving her unable to speak clearly.

Though the aphasia eventually passed and she was discharged after a month, a 2013 scan revealed the aneurysm had grown and required a second surgery. This procedure was unsuccessful, leading to a massive bleed and a dire prognosis. Doctors had to perform a more invasive surgery, accessing her brain directly through her skull.

Fortunately, Emilia is now fully recovered and says she is “at a hundred per cent.”

In January 2024, she suffered a stroke and immediately reached out to her loved ones. “I texted them that I just had a stroke and sent them a picture,” she told Will Marfuggi of TopMob News in December 2024. “Everybody just came to my rescue.”

Cori ended up staying in the hospital longer than expected due to other health issues. She explained that while she could have gone home after the stroke, her lupus and failing kidneys required further care.

Today, Cori is recovering well. “I’m doing great,” she said. “I just had a little bit of motor skills that I had to work back on. But other than that, I was fine.”

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she explained that she experienced hearing loss, debilitating fatigue, and digestive problems. She saw many doctors but received conflicting diagnoses.

Drawing on her background in holistic medicine and herbalism, Shailene sought answers from both traditional doctors and alternative healers, hoping to find relief and understand what was happening to her body.

The search for a solution took ten years, and the physical discomfort led to deeper emotional challenges. She developed a fear of food and struggled with body image issues and a sense of identity.

Fortunately, after years of focusing on both her physical and mental well-being, Shailene has fully recovered and is now very healthy. She expressed her gratitude for being able to say that she feels good again.
