Following the fun of Taskmaster‘s New Year’s special, the next series has announced its five contestants.
I’m so excited for the new season of Taskmaster! The lineup is amazing – we’ve got Amy Gledhill, a really funny stand-up comedian, plus Armando Iannucci, the genius behind shows like The Thick of It. Then there’s Joanna Page, who I loved in Gavin & Stacey, and Joel Dommett, who’s brilliant on The Masked Singer. To top it all off, Kumail Nanjiani, who I’ve seen in Silicon Valley and Eternals, is joining in the fun too! It’s going to be a great series.
In 2026, a new group of contestants will compete on Taskmaster, willingly sacrificing their pride to try and impress Greg Davies, with Little Alex Horne overseeing the challenges.

For the first time ever on Taskmaster, the show features not one, but two Oscar nominees! Armando Iannucci and Kumail Nanjiani both received Academy Award nominations for their screenwriting on the films In the Loop and The Big Sick, respectively.
The newest group of contestants are following in the footsteps of Maisie Adam, who won the last season of Taskmaster. She secured the trophy by correctly answering a tiebreaker question after an unusual three-way tie with Ania Magliano and Phil Ellis.
As I see it, the next winner of this competition will immediately be in the conversation for an ultimate, all-winners showdown. That’s thanks to Mathew Baynton, the star of ‘Ghosts,’ who recently triumphed over a fantastic lineup – Adam, Andy Zaltzman, John Robins, and Sam Campbell – representing the champions from the last five seasons. It really sets the stage for something huge!

As a long-time fan, I’m thrilled to share that Alex Horne and Greg Davies are taking the hilarious chaos of Taskmaster on the road! Later this month, they’re bringing a brand-new, live show – Taskmaster Live On Stage – to theaters all along the east coast of America. It’s something fans haven’t been able to experience before, and I’m already hearing buzz about how incredibly funny it is.
Although Channel 4 hasn’t officially announced whether the show will return after season 21, most people believe it will continue.
In a recent interview with KTLA, show creator Davies explained that the show will continue as long as everyone involved is still enjoying themselves. He stated they’ve always planned to keep it going ‘while we’re having fun,’ and that remains true.
As a huge Taskmaster fan, I’m thrilled to hear that season 21 is coming later this year! It’ll be on Channel 4 here in the UK, but for everyone else around the world, you’ll be able to catch it on the official Taskmaster YouTube channel. I’ve already marked my calendar!
