Taskmaster’s Alex Horne teases “never-before-seen” moment in season 21 involving movie star contestant

Alex Horne, the creator of Taskmaster, has gotten fans talking with a mysterious hint about the upcoming 21st season, mentioning new contestant Kumail Nanjiani.

The actor known for his role in The Eternals recently joined the show and has already recorded scenes with comedians Amy Gledhill, Armando Iannucci, Joanna Page, and Joel Dommett.

There’s a funny bit with Kumail Nanjiani where he reveals quite a bit about his private routine in his hotel room. You’ll have to watch to find out what it is!

He unexpectedly shared something personal, and I happened to be right there with him. It was a truly unique and unforgettable moment on Taskmaster.

Consider us intrigued!

It looks like comedy writer Iannucci is also facing some challenges, as Horne shares his opinions on all the contestants from season 21.

Horne expressed his surprise that Armando Iannucci is participating, noting Iannucci’s reputation as a highly talented and well-known comedy writer and performer, making his appearance on Taskmaster unexpected.

It’s actually quite a relief to realize Armando isn’t as intimidating as he seems. I was initially worried about meeting and working with him, but it quickly became clear he’s just a regular person who struggles when things get stressful.

Our guests include Kumail Nanjiani, known from his film work, Joel Dommett, who hosts The Masked Singer, the incredibly talented Amy Gledhill, and Joanna Page from Gavin & Stacey. It’s a really impressive group of people!

Alex Horne recently returned from a US tour with ‘Taskmaster Live on Stage USA’. When asked who his ideal American contestants would be, he quickly replied, “Ali Wong, Sarah Silverman, and Conan O’Brien.”

I’d suggest Seth Meyers and John Oliver – they recently performed in our American live show and were hilarious. That gives you five guests total, and we’re all set!

We don’t have a confirmed release date for Season 21 yet, but with the cast now announced, it should be coming soon! We’re especially excited to see what Kumail Nanjiani brings to the new season.

The twenty-first season of Taskmaster is coming later this year on Channel 4 in the UK, and will be available on the official Taskmaster YouTube channel for viewers everywhere else.
