Taskmaster’s Alex Horne teases new series with intriguing format change: “We’ve got something up our sleeve”

Good news for Taskmaster fans! Alex Horne has hinted that the show’s creators are developing a slightly different version of the series, potentially changing things up in the not-too-distant future.

We’re planning something new and interesting soon – a series with a few unique changes. I can’t share details just yet, but we’re definitely working on something exciting.

Horne didn’t offer further details on that topic, but he did discuss the show’s future, mentioning that they’re already planning for season 21.

Greg and I agreed from the start that we’d stop when the work stopped being enjoyable. Right now, we’re still having fun, and we also want to end things while people are still interested and wanting more, he said.

But first, we can look forward to season 21, and the host has hinted at a moment from the new series that he believes could become legendary in Taskmaster history.

When asked if the new series has any scenes that could become iconic like past favorites – such as Joe Wilkinson’s potato incident and Mike Wozniak’s casserole creation – Alex Horne hinted at a funny moment involving Kumail Nanjiani. He wouldn’t reveal details, but said it involves what Kumail gets up to alone in his hotel room, and viewers will have to watch to find out.

He unexpectedly opened up, and I happened to be right there with him. It was a truly unique and unforgettable moment on Taskmaster – something we’d never seen before.

We don’t know exactly when Taskmaster season 21 will be released, but the lineup is set! This season’s contestants are Armando Iannucci, Kumail Nanjiani, Joel Dommett, Amy Gledhill, and Joanna Page. Stay tuned for updates – the challenges are about to begin!

The twenty-first season of Taskmaster is coming later this year. You can watch it on Channel 4 in the UK, and on the official Taskmaster YouTube channel everywhere else in the world.
