Taskmaster’s future officially confirmed as it hits massive global numbers on YouTube

Channel 4 announced that the popular comedy game show Taskmaster will return for six more seasons.

Greg Davies, the host of Taskmaster, and Alex Horne, the show’s creator, are both back for the New Year’s special and a special champion-of-champions episode that fans will love.

Horne admitted feeling both excited and pressured about needing to find more work for more comedians. However, he added that the idea of continuing to work with Greg for another three years is comforting.

Davies also expressed his pleasure that the comedy club is still running. He jokingly said he anticipates continuing to supply it with performers, with assistance from a quiet, unassuming man under his control.

Channel 4 announced the show’s renewal and shared that season 19 of Taskmaster, which aired in 2025, was its most popular yet. Videos from the season received a total of 165 million views worldwide across all social media platforms.

The show has exceeded 1.4 billion views worldwide on the official Channel 4 YouTube channel.

Season 21 is almost here! It premieres on Channel 4 this Thursday, April 9th, at 9pm, and will be available on YouTube worldwide immediately after.

The new season’s cast includes comedian Amy Gledhill, known from Last One Laughing, Armando Iannucci, the creator of shows like The Thick of It and The Day Today, actress Joanna Page from Gavin & Stacey, Joel Dommett, who hosts The Masked Singer, and Kumail Nanjiani, an Oscar nominee famous for his role in Silicon Valley.

You can watch all seasons of Taskmaster for free on Channel 4. Season 21 starts on Thursday, April 9th at 9pm on Channel 4, and will be available on the official Taskmaster YouTube channel for viewers outside of the UK.
