Tate Paul’s Private World: Where Taylor Frankie Paul’s Ex Is Now

Viewers of The Bachelorette won’t see Taylor Frankie Paul’s season air after it was canceled due to her domestic assault case involving her ex, Dakota Mortensen. This means fans will miss out on all the typical Bachelorette moments, like helicopter rides, hot tub dates, and proposals.

Away from the public eye, her ex-husband, Tate Paul—and the father of her two oldest children, Indy, 8, and Ocean, 5—seems to have found love, suggesting that privacy can be a good environment for romance.

Four years after Taylor, who later starred in the Hulu docuseries The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, announced the end of her six-year marriage due to a partner-swapping incident, her ex-husband, Tate, has moved on. He and Bailey Paul welcomed their first child together in 2023.

In a heartfelt Mother’s Day message, he shared how amazing she is as both a mother and a wife. He praised her selflessness, saying she always puts her family first, and expressed how grateful they all are to have her. He ended with a loving message, telling her how much he loves her.

This is only one of five posts Andrew Tate has shared with his almost 24,000 Instagram followers. So far, he hasn’t publicly said anything about his ex’s shocking move on The Bachelor.

Just three days before the premiere, ABC announced on March 19th that Taylor’s season wouldn’t air. This decision came after TMZ released video of a physical fight from 2023 between Taylor and her then-boyfriend, Dakota, who is the father of her 2-year-old son, Ever.

Disney Entertainment Television announced today that it has cancelled the upcoming season of The Bachelorette following the release of a new video. The company stated its priority is supporting the family involved. This decision comes after production was already halted on the fifth season of Summer House: Martha’s Vineyard due to separate allegations of domestic abuse.

Taylor’s representative called the video clip part of a harmful effort to damage her reputation, claiming it left out important information. However, they also stated that Taylor appreciates ABC’s support, as her family’s safety is her top priority.

After experiencing two consecutive pregnancy losses in 2023, Taylor shared on the 2024 podcast The Viall Files that she turned to alcohol. Following this, court documents obtained by TopMob News revealed she faced several charges: one felony count of aggravated assault, two felony counts of domestic violence with a child present resulting in injury, one misdemeanor count of child abuse, and one misdemeanor count of criminal mischief. She has discussed this difficult time on multiple occasions.

In August, she admitted to aggravated assault, and the other charges against her were dropped. She received a three-year probation sentence.

Tate is mostly avoiding any involvement in the drama surrounding his ex-wife. However, an alleged TikTok account of his did share a video that seemed to minimize Taylor Frankie Paul’s 2023 arrest. It’s clear he’s not trying to smooth things over.

Curious what he is up to? Allow us to steal you for a sec.

Who Is Taylor Frankie Paul’s Ex Tate Paul?

Before appearing on the show and promising she was there for genuine connections, 31-year-old Taylor had already become well-known as a social media personality. She shared videos of her dancing and glimpses into her life as a mother in Draper, Utah, while married to her then-husband, Tate.

Despite working full-time as a software manager, Tate happily appeared in videos with Taylor and their two children. They welcomed their daughter, Indy, in August 2017, just under a year after getting married in 2016, and their son, Ocean, in June 2020.

After splitting from his partner in 2022, Tate has mostly stayed out of the public eye. He occasionally shares music remixes with his 110,000 TikTok followers and posts on Instagram, but generally keeps a low profile.

How Was Tate Paul Involved in the #MomTok Swingers Scandal?

Tate and Taylor experimented with polyamory during their almost six-year marriage. In a May 2022 TikTok video, Taylor shared that she and her husband participated in a casual “soft-swinging” group with other mothers from the Mormon community on TikTok.

She explained that they had agreed to partner swapping but not to have full sexual intercourse. However, the arrangement didn’t work out as planned, as Taylor confessed she broke the agreement once. She clarified it only happened one time, but she and the other man developed feelings for each other.

Despite remaining a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints – jokingly noting on TikTok in September that they likely wouldn’t remove such a prominent advocate – Taylor was effectively separated from her husband, ending their marital relationship.

Taylor explained that although she wasn’t missing Tate romantically, she deeply missed their six years together as partners and best friends. She acknowledged missing that close connection and what they shared.

Debuting her romance with Dakota, Taylor noted she’d be keeping him to herself.

She stated that swinging completely destroyed her life. While acknowledging that everyone has different preferences, she firmly said she would never participate in it again.

Who Is Tate Paul Married to Now?

You know, it’s funny how life unfolds. While I’ve been excited to share my journey on Hulu, my ex, Tate, has actually been leaning away from public life. I recently chatted with Distractify and shared that as far as I know, he’s doing really well. We’ve always prioritized our kids, so I did ask that they not be featured on SLOMW, and honestly, I wish him and his fiancée all the best. There’s a lot of love there, even after everything.

Bailey, a skincare specialist from Utah who focuses on lash lifts, eyebrows, and waxing, has only been featured a few times on Andrew Tate’s Instagram. He did mention in a post last October (which has since been removed) that they had a baby girl.

He told me on Mother’s Day 2024 just how much he appreciated me, and it meant the world. He said I’m an amazing mother and partner, and thanked me for everything – for him, our little one, and his other kids too. Honestly, he says he’s constantly amazed by how much I put others first and how caring I am, and it just fills my heart to hear him say that.

Consider Taylor a fan as well.

She told Today.com that Dakota and Tate are friends, and she’s also friendly with Bailey. She acknowledged this might bother some people, but she feels it’s a genuine part of her life and story.

I’ve been following Taylor’s story closely, and it’s been a lot to keep up with! So, I’ve put together a simple timeline of everything that’s been alleged in her case – basically, a quick rundown of what’s happened so far.

Taylor Frankie Paul, who gained popularity on TikTok as #MomTok, was arrested in Utah on February 17, 2023, following an altercation with her boyfriend, Dakota Mortensen. According to court documents obtained by ABC 4 Utah, she allegedly threw metal chairs and a wooden playset at him while one of her children was present. She shares these children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul.

Court records show Taylor faces several charges, including aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence with a child present resulting in injury, simple child abuse, and criminal mischief, according to the Salt Lake County District Attorney’s office and reports from TopMob News.

According to court documents, the police officer who arrived at the scene stated that Dakota told him he had been arguing with his girlfriend. The officer also said that Dakota tried to leave, but his girlfriend, Taylor, began hitting him.

In August 2023, Taylor admitted guilt to a serious assault charge, as shown in court records obtained by the Salt Lake Tribune. Four other charges against them were dropped and won’t be filed again.

For three years, the charge against her was put on hold. If Taylor followed the conditions of her agreement, it would then be filed as a minor offense, according to court records.

As part of her agreement, Taylor was required to undergo assessments for both substance abuse and domestic violence, and to complete any treatment recommended as a result, all within three years. She also had to avoid breaking any major laws.

Taylor and Dakota welcomed their son a week ahead of schedule. On April 4, 2024, Taylor shared a photo from the hospital on Instagram, expressing their joy and writing, ‘These past two weeks with him have been wonderful. We all love him so much, and we’re grateful he’s brought our families together.’

Let me tell you, after speaking with Taylor, it’s clear the disagreement with Dakota was a really tough moment – a true low point, as they put it. They described it as hitting rock bottom, and it sounds like they’ve been doing a lot of reflecting since then.

She explained that he supported her because he understood what was really happening, even the things no one else knew. “It was a terrible night, and I really regret it,” she said. Dakota himself had gone through a difficult time, so he empathized with her situation. He told her he wanted to help her get through it.

As for the confrontation itself, she later said the incident had been building up.

She revealed on the Viall Files podcast in September 2024 that she’d experienced an ectopic pregnancy a few months earlier, followed by a chemical pregnancy. While hesitant to attribute it solely to hormonal imbalances, she acknowledged that her hormones might be playing a role, saying she feels ‘pretty off’.

Taylor explained that she felt confused and upset by what happened, leading her to drink. Dakota then picked her up and expressed his disapproval of her drinking.

I recall being angry and throwing objects, and I didn’t even recognize my daughters who were on the couch. We had babysitters watching them, and I think they were asleep upstairs. Apparently, someone – Dakota, I think – tried to tell me my five-year-old was there too, but I was so out of it that I didn’t even care, and I just threw another chair.

The first episode of the Hulu series The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which premiered in September 2024, showed Taylor’s arrest that occurred in 2023.

Taylor publicly announced her breakup with Dakota in May 2025. The split came after it was revealed on the second season premiere of SLOMW that Dakota had been unfaithful shortly after their son was born. Taylor shared the news on TikTok, stating, “Dakota isn’t mine anymore, wish him the best.”

We were living together and so happy with our new baby, and I was starting to think about getting engaged,” she shared on the show’s first episode. “Then I found out he’d been lying to me the whole time.

In a fourth-season episode of SLOMW, Dakota confessed to having an affair with a friend, Shinia Powell. During a FaceTime call with Taylor, Dakota admitted, “It was a mistake, and I probably should have chosen someone else. The fact that it was Shinia was where I messed up—I knew it would cause problems, and I shouldn’t have done it.”

I was absolutely thrilled to hear that Taylor will be the next Bachelorette for season 22! She announced it herself on Call Her Daddy back in September 2025, and honestly, it’s a really exciting change for the show. Usually, they pick someone who was already on The Bachelor, so this feels fresh and new. I can’t wait to watch!

Taylor saw it as a positive development, sharing in a preview for the upcoming season, “I think this was meant to be part of my next journey.”

Taylor shared that she’s faced criticism, judgment, and rejection, but believes those who truly get to know her will see she’s sincere, has good intentions, and deserves another opportunity at love.

I remember when Taylor was getting ready to film season 22 of The Bachelorette, there was this really raw moment with Dakota that aired on an older season of SLOMW. He actually apologized to her for his relationship with Shinia, and he admitted it was a terrible thing to do. It was a tough conversation to watch, but it showed a lot of honesty from him.

He explained that both he and Taylor had caused each other pain, but he still thought they loved each other deeply.

The couple acknowledged their relationship was unhealthy, and Taylor believed appearing on The Bachelorette could actually be beneficial for both of them, no matter the outcome. She felt it would provide a much-needed opportunity for them to separate and begin to heal.

Dakota let Taylor know he still had feelings for her, saying he was glad she was happy and wished her well if she found someone else. He playfully asked her to ‘save a rose for him,’ hinting that he hadn’t given up on the possibility of a relationship.

Production on season five of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives stopped in February 2026 following a reported argument between Taylor and Dakota.

On March 16th, a representative from the Draper City Police Department told People magazine that they were investigating claims of domestic assault involving Taylor and Dakota. The representative stated that both individuals had made accusations against each other. Police had spoken with those involved on February 24th and 25th, but are not releasing further details while the investigation is ongoing.

According to a source at TopMob News, Taylor is taking responsibility for her actions and is primarily focused on shielding her son, Ever, from negative press or anything that could affect his perception of his father. She wants Ever to have a positive view of his father.

After Taylor and Dakota had a disagreement in 2026, TMZ released video of a physical fight between them that originally happened in 2023.

The video shows Dakota filming a fight while Taylor shouts at him and tries to hit him, even briefly putting him in a headlock.

“Look,” Dakota can be heard saying, “this is called physical abuse.”

As Taylor began throwing metal barstools at him, he said she mentioned their daughter was there. During the fight, Taylor claimed Dakota pushed her to the ground before he started filming, and he responded by saying, “You did this,” and asked her to think about their 5-year-old child. Taylor was later heard shouting, “Stay away from my daughter!”

According to a police report obtained by TopMob News in 2023, the child was struck by a stool.

Following the video’s release, a representative for Taylor stated to TopMob News that it was part of an effort to damage her reputation. They said the video left out important information and was intended to shift attention away from Dakota’s behavior. Dakota, however, dismissed Taylor’s accusations as untrue.

Following the release of video showing a disagreement between Taylor and Dakota in 2023, ABC announced it was cancelling season 22 of The Bachelorette. A Disney Entertainment representative told TopMob News, “We’ve decided not to proceed with the new season right now, and our priority is supporting the family involved.”

Following ABC’s decision, Taylor broke her silence about the situation.

Taylor is thankful for the support she’s receiving from ABC as she focuses on keeping her family safe. According to her representative, she has endured years of severe mental and physical abuse and threats, but is now finding the courage to confront her abuser and protect herself and her children from future harm.

The statement highlighted that many women are silently enduring hardship caused by former partners who are controlling, possessive, and won’t allow them to rebuild their lives.

Taylor’s representative said she is considering her next steps, getting support, and will eventually tell her side of the story.

Dakota addressed claims of domestic violence involving him and Taylor, stating in a March 19th interview with TopMob News that the video of the incident is “deeply upsetting,” as anyone who’s seen it would agree.

He stated he was sadly accustomed to false accusations regarding himself and their relationship, and firmly denied them all.

Dakota said her priority is her son Ever and making sure he’s safe, and she hopes Taylor will prioritize his safety as well.
