Taylor Frankie Paul Bachelorette Contestant Reacts to Cancellation

Content warning: This story contains details of domestic violence.

One of Taylor Frankie Paul’s Bachelorette contestants is speaking out.

After season 22 was canceled due to a 2023 video showing a physical fight with her former partner, Dakota Mortensen, one of the show’s cast members expressed their disappointment with how things unfolded.

The contestant expressed strong frustration, telling TopMob News, “I’m really angry about this.” They explained that everyone involved made significant sacrifices to participate and approached the situation with kindness and a willingness to give someone another opportunity.

The cast member revealed that Taylor openly discussed her relationship with Dakota, with whom she shares a 2-year-old son, as well as her ex-husband, Tate Paul, and their two children, while they were filming.

He explained they had given her several chances and genuinely believed she had changed. Looking back, he said, her behavior and how she treated everyone was simply a pointless drain on their time, energy, and emotional resources.

How did he respond to the video—released by TMZ on March 19th—showing Taylor grabbing and kicking Dakota, with a child crying in the background?

“I’m getting emotional even just thinking about it,” he said. “It’s pretty heavy for all of us.”

Ultimately, I just hope she’s able to get the support she needs,” he said.

After the 2023 incident, Taylor was arrested and faced serious charges including aggravated assault and domestic violence, as well as lesser charges of child abuse and property damage, according to reports from TopMob News and ABC4 Utah. She eventually pleaded guilty to the aggravated assault charge, and the remaining charges were dropped.

Following the release of the video showing the incident between Taylor and Dakota, a Disney Entertainment representative told TopMob News that they’ve decided to cancel the upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Their priority now is supporting the families involved.

Taylor’s representative later told TopMob News that the video is part of an effort to damage Taylor’s reputation. They stated it leaves out important information and called its release a dishonest attempt to shift attention away from the actions of the person who shared it.

For his part, Dakota shared his thoughts on the situation.

He stated in a March 19th interview with TopMob News that the video is very disturbing, and he’s sadly become accustomed to false accusations regarding him and his relationship, all of which he strongly refutes.

Dakota added, “I am focusing on our son and his safety, and hope that Taylor will do the same.”

Even though Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette has been cancelled, here’s an update on what’s happening with other couples from The Bachelor franchise.

Status: Dating

Before The Golden Bachelor even premiered, Mel Owen faced some criticism. He appeared on the MGoBlue Podcasts With Jon Jansen and stated he wouldn’t consider women over 60, and preferred they didn’t have artificial hips or wigs.

Although his longtime partner, Peg Munson, is also in her sixties, their relationship is full of energy and excitement. The former NFL player described her to Glamour as being incredibly “high-energy.”

Even though he didn’t kneel during his final game in November 2025, the athlete—who is also a lawyer—presented his partner with a Neil Lane diamond ring, explaining that it symbolized their dedication to each other and their desire to build a future together.

Status: Engaged

Spencer Conley, known for his charming personality on The Bachelorette (which caught the attention of Jenn Tran), found a connection on season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise. In August 2025, he shared a post with Jess Edwards (who previously tried to win over Joey Graziadei on The Bachelor) hinting that they were falling for each other—a way of saying they weren’t quite ready to say “I love you”—and playfully declared he’d “already won.”

Jess echoed the sentiment, posting on social media, “Just feeling really happy about this guy and everything!”

They were overjoyed – after deciding to prioritize their relationship over a $250,000 prize, they got engaged and were then surprised with a check for $190,000.

“Everything that we’ve been through,” Jess said, “has led us to this exact moment.”

Their relationship eventually brought Jess to Dallas. She shared during Mel’s “After the Finale Rose” special in November 2025 that she would be moving to Texas within a few weeks.

Status: Dating

Bailey Taylor Brown shared on Instagram in August 2025 that her date with Jeremy Simon was the best first date she’d ever had, following their time on season 10 of Paradise. However, it might also be their last. Bailey, who originally competed for Grant Ellis’s affection, and Jeremy, who almost won the heart of Jenn on The Bachelorette, managed to overcome their biggest argument yet when Bailey discovered Jeremy had hesitated about sending Susie Evans home.

Their romance continued to blossom while they were in Costa Rica. Even though they didn’t leave Bachelor in Paradise as a couple, they decided to keep dating after the show ended. They’ve already met each other’s families and are making plans to live in the same city together.

In a September 2025 Instagram post, Bailey expressed how happy she was to have met her partner and shared her excitement for the future.

Status: Dating

It appears that Andrew Spencer, who competed on Katie Thurston’s season of Paradise, and Alexe Godin from Grant’s season are still very close. Just six days after Andrew publicly called Alexe his “mon amour” (my love) on Instagram in August 2025, she reciprocated, calling him “mon chéri” (my dear) in a post of her own.

Even though they picked love instead of the $250,000 prize on the Bachelor in Paradise finale, they still received $125,000.

“This is incredible,” Alexe exclaimed. “I’m leaving with money, but more importantly, with love.”

Oh my gosh, you guys, I’m losing it! It’s happening! Alexe is moving to Chicago… with Andrew! I can’t believe it! They’re actually bringing their relationship to the Windy City, and I just saw the show reveal it! I’m so happy for them, I could scream!

In September 2025, she shared on Instagram that she’d met someone she connected with, saying she was excited to share her life with them.

Status: Split

Let me tell you, things got pretty dramatic on the Bachelor in Paradise finale! Kat Izzo faced some tough accusations from Sean McLaughlin, who claimed she was secretly communicating with an ex – even suggesting she hid a laptop to do so. Kat, though, firmly denied ever reaching out to him while on the show. It was definitely a tense moment, but she stood her ground!

She asked if they were still together before this happened. He replied that they were, explaining he hadn’t expected to meet anyone new.

Even though Kat and Dale didn’t make it to the final test on Paradise, their relationship continued to grow. The show later revealed that the two – Kat, who was previously on Zach Shallcross’ season, and Dale, a former contestant from Clare Crawley’s season – traveled the U.S. together and started making plans for a future together, including potentially moving closer to each other.

Dale wrote under Kat’s August 2025 Instagram post, ‘Things were difficult sometimes, but we got through it together, and I wouldn’t trade the experience for anything.’

But their journey came to a close in early 2026.

Kat mentioned on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast in January that he wasn’t willing to move from New York City.

She said he didn’t see San Diego as a place where he could advance his career. She admitted she never got a clear explanation and wasn’t sure what his real reasons were.

Status: Just friends—for now

After leaving season 10 of Bachelor in Paradise, Gary Levingston and Leslie Fhima (who was a finalist on Golden Bachelor) seemed optimistic about their future together, even sharing a video about creating new memories. However, Leslie, who once inspired musician Prince, isn’t certain she wants to pursue a romantic relationship with Gary.

She shared that she and Gary talk constantly. Appearing on Bachelor Happy Hour in August 2025, she described him as one of her closest friends – someone she can always turn to for support. He helps her through tough times, and they consistently support each other, always having each other’s backs.

Even though they live far apart – she’s in Minnesota and he’s in California – she’s still optimistic about things. She explained that, for her, the most important part of any relationship, especially a romantic one, is building a strong friendship first. She wants to be with someone she considers her best friend as they both get older.

Status: Just friends

Kim Buike, a frontrunner on Golden Bachelorette, has found love with Faith Martin, who previously received the first impression rose from Gerry Turner. Despite being eliminated on season 10 of Paradise, the pair are still together. In August 2025, Faith shared a video on Instagram showing Kim enjoying a date with her in Washington state.

In the end, they realized they were better suited as friends than as a couple.

In a September 2025 Instagram video, Faith explained that she and the other person talk about two or three times a week, despite living five and a half hours apart. She clarified that they’re not in a romantic relationship and never were, but they did have a good connection while filming the show.

Grant initially met twenty-five women on The Bachelor, but he chose Juliana Pasquarosa at the end. Unfortunately, the couple broke up less than three months after the proposal was shown on television.

Grant announced on Instagram on June 13th that he and Juliana have decided to break up. He explained that they both tried their best and cared deeply for each other, but after careful consideration, they realized they weren’t compatible for the future.

As a lifestyle expert, I’ve been following Joan’s journey with love, and it’s been wonderful to see! After being a contestant on The Golden Bachelor, Joan decided to take the lead herself and became The Golden Bachelorette. And guess what? It paid off! She found love with Chock Chapple and they’re engaged! It just proves it’s never too late to find ‘the one.’

During the November 2024 finale of The Golden Bachelorette, Joan shared a message of hope, saying, “We’re proof that it’s never too late to find love, no matter what challenges life brings.” Just before Chock proposed in Bora Bora, she told him, “I’ve waited for this moment, in this beautiful place, to tell you that I love you, and I want to spend the rest of my life with you—waking up with you every morning and kissing you goodnight.”

Even though they’re currently in a long-distance relationship, they’re gradually starting to plan their future together.

Joan explained in a February 2026 Instagram Q&A that they’re planning their wedding for 2027 because their children are also starting to plan their own weddings. She said they want to avoid having their wedding at the same time as their kids’.

During the season 21 finale of The Bachelorette, it seemed like Jenn Tran, who previously appeared on The Bachelor, had found her happily ever after with Devin Strader. However, Jenn later shared during the After the Final Rose episode in September 2024 that Devin became distant with her immediately after filming ended.

Jenn explained to Jesse Palmer that he had strongly declared his love for her, but the very next day acted as if it never happened and denied having any feelings. She said all the promises and affection he’d expressed were suddenly gone.

The situation escalated when Devin posted a 13-minute video on Instagram explaining his perspective. In the video, he took responsibility for his actions and detailed the reasons behind their breakup, which he had initially discussed during a 15-minute phone call.

Jenn said he ended their relationship during a phone call in August, but he insists she pressed him for answers when he was trying to tell her in person.

He said he’d been wanting to tell her face-to-face, but she pushed him to reveal it sooner than he planned. “I felt like she left me no choice,” he explained.

Jenn then met Sasha Farber while competing on Dancing With the Stars, and the two became a couple. They continued to dance together even after being eliminated from the show in October 2024, but eventually ended their relationship in 2025.

Greg Grippo, who appeared on Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelorette, began dating Victoria Fuller from Bachelor in Paradise in November 2022. They announced their relationship on the season eight finale of Bachelor in Paradise, but Greg shared in April 2024 that they had broken up.

Before revealing their relationship on the season finale of Bachelor in Paradise, Victoria Fuller ended her engagement with fellow cast member Johnny DePhillipo, and then began dating Greg Grippo.

Gerry Nist and Theresa Nist got engaged in November 2023, during the first-ever Golden Bachelor finale, and they were married in a televised ceremony in January 2024. They are now divorced.

However, three months after their nuptials, the couple announced that they were breaking up.

Gerry and Theresa have been having open and honest talks about their relationship and living arrangements. During an appearance on Good Morning America in April 2024, Gerry shared that they’ve both decided it’s time to get a divorce.

They reached a divorce settlement in June 2024, according to court records reviewed by TopMob News.

In April 2025, Gerry shared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast that he was seeing someone and things were progressing nicely.

Tennis star Joey has found love! After dating 32 women, he proposed to project manager Kelsey Anderson during the March 2024 season finale. He told Kelsey, “I can’t wait another minute to tell you that I love you,” before getting down on one knee. Joey was captivated by Kelsey’s positive energy, saying it was a feeling he’d never experienced before. He shared that meeting her showed him just how wonderful his life could be, and he knew he wanted to spend forever with her.

John Henry Spurlock, who competed for Charity Lawson’s affection, and Kat Izzo, from Zach Shallcross’ season, found a connection on Bachelor in Paradise, but their romance didn’t last. John Henry proposed with a Neil Lane diamond, telling Kat she was everything he was looking for. However, shortly after the show aired, they announced their split, explaining that their career goals were incompatible. They shared on Instagram that they were thankful for the support they received from family, friends, and fans of The Bachelor franchise.

Eliza Isichei, who previously dated Clayton Echard, is engaged! Despite some initial anxiety, she said yes to Aaron Bryant’s proposal by the ocean. She was especially touched that Aaron asked her mother for her blessing, admitting she was overwhelmed with emotion.

However, their engagement didn’t last. After returning from filming, Eliza and Aaron faced challenges and ultimately decided to end things. They announced their split in December 2023, sharing that they parted ways amicably with respect and positivity for each other.

Despite previously expressing disappointment that boyfriend Aven Jones hadn’t proposed in a traditional way – something he had apparently been ready to do on The Bachelorette with Rachel Recchia – Kylee Russell accepted his proposal to try and make their relationship work on Paradise. Although she had a special engagement dress packed, she felt she needed to follow her heart, believing that love requires taking chances. Sadly, just two days after the show’s finale aired in December 2023, Kylee announced on social media that the relationship had ended due to Aven’s infidelity. Aven later apologized, admitting he had made serious mistakes and hurt Kylee deeply.

Charity Lawson is thrilled with how her season of The Bachelorette ended! She hinted to TopMob News that things were going well, but her August 2023 finale was even more exciting than she let on. Dotun Olubeko, an integrative medicine specialist, proposed to Charity, a child and family therapist, getting down on one knee and declaring their love was “perfect.” He asked her to make their “fairytale” a reality.

Although a wedding (possibly in 2025 or 2026) is in their future, Charity will first be hitting the dance floor on Dancing With the Stars. Dotun surprised her with the news on The Bachelorette: After the Final Rose, saying he knew how much she loved to dance and that he was excited for her to have this opportunity.

I was so thrilled to see Zach finally get his happy ending! After a bit of a rocky journey, especially with those Fantasy Suite dates, he proposed to Kaity Biggar in March 2023. He told her he was completely in love and that she was his world – it was such a sweet moment! And then, in July 2023, they announced they were officially roommates, which felt like another huge step for them. I’m really happy for Zach and Kaity and excited to see what the future holds for them!

Kaity and her partner got married on May 23, 2025, in a small, intimate chapel ceremony. Originally, they had planned a bigger wedding, but Kaity realized it wasn’t necessary. As she shared on the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast in June 2025, she wanted to focus on what truly mattered: their love and connection. She felt she was getting too caught up in minor details and wanted to keep the celebration authentic to their relationship.

Honestly, what really sealed the deal for me was the venue. My aunt, who signed me up to compete for Zach’s heart, actually found the adorable little chapel near Austin where we had the ceremony. It was just… perfect. Seriously, it made the whole experience feel even more special.

Danielle Maltby and Michael Allio, who seemed like a promising couple after meeting on Bachelor in Paradise, have broken up. Despite a strong connection – Danielle had previously experienced loss, and Michael is a single dad raising his son James – they decided to go their separate ways after about a year of Danielle moving to Ohio to be with him. Michael explained on a podcast that while they cared for each other, they weren’t compatible long-term, and he was grieving the loss of the future they had imagined together.

Brandon Jones proposed to Serene Russell on season seven of Paradise, telling her he would love her forever. However, their relationship didn’t last. Just five months after getting engaged on the show, the couple announced their split in May 2023. In a joint statement on Instagram, they explained they had tried to resolve their issues privately, but found it difficult with so much public attention. They shared that the breakup was painful for both of them and asked for understanding, not negativity.

Pilot Rachel and contractor Tino Franco ended their engagement after he kissed someone else while their season of the show was still being broadcast. Tino later admitted on the podcast The Viall Files that he deeply regrets his actions. He said he knows it was unfair to Rachel, feels ashamed, and wishes he could have handled things differently. He stated he doesn’t excuse his behavior and still thinks about it every day.

Susie Evans and Clayton Echard’s relationship, which played out on The Bachelor in 2022, had a complicated journey. After Susie initially turned Clayton down in the finale, they briefly reconnected off-camera, but ultimately broke up after about six months. Susie has explained that the split was necessary for her own well-being, noting that she wasn’t truly happy and felt disconnected from her best self, despite having some good times with Clayton. She shared these feelings in a post on her blog, “Susie Was Like.”

Susie then began dating Justin Glaze, who is known from The Bachelor franchise, but they ended their relationship in August 2024.

Michelle, an elementary school teacher from Minnesota, received a proposal and a $200,000 check for a future home from Nayte Olukoya, a sales executive from Texas, after appearing on a reality show. However, the couple broke up six months after the show’s finale in December 2021, as they realized they weren’t a good long-term match. Nayte later admitted on a podcast that while their relationship had many challenges, ending things without an in-person conversation was a mistake.

Michelle later began dating Jack Leius in 2023 and they became engaged the following year. They were married in Minnesota in June 2025.

Fans were really rooting for Maurissa Gunn and Riley Christian as a couple, imagining a happy future together. However, the couple from season seven of BIP ultimately only spent a few weekends together. In a joint statement released in January 2022, Maurissa (who previously dated Peter Weber) and Riley (who competed for Tayshia Adams’ heart) announced they were breaking up. They explained that they both needed to focus on personal growth and hadn’t anticipated this outcome.

Status: Split

The first same-sex couple from Bachelor in Paradise got engaged on season six, but they revealed they had broken up in 2019 on Halloween.

We’ve always cared deeply for each other, and making the best decision for both of us has always been our priority. With love and sadness, we’ve decided to take a break and focus on ourselves. We believe this is the best path forward for our individual growth and well-being, and ultimately what’s best for us right now, as shared in a joint statement.

Despite a breakup during season seven of Bachelor in Paradise, Noah Erb and Abigail Heringer realized they were meant to be together. After initially living in San Diego, the couple recently bought a house in Noah’s hometown of Tulsa, Oklahoma. Abigail announced the exciting news on Instagram in July 2023, joking that they were entering their ‘Chip and Joanna Gaines era.’ They’re now planning a wedding after Noah proposed in San Diego in August 2023.

Serena Pitt and Joe Amabile, who first connected on reality TV, secretly tied the knot in October 2022! The couple, engaged after leaving Paradise, decided to have a small ceremony at City Hall near their home in New York City about a year before their planned larger wedding in September 2023. Serena, currently the host of the Bachelor Happy Hour podcast with Joe, shared the news with a playful message: “We are still having a wedding this September but who doesn’t want to get married twice!” Joe Amabile first gained attention on Becca Kufrin’s season of The Bachelorette in 2018, and is known as the ‘Grocery Store Joe’.

Kenny Braasch proposed to Mari Pepin with a Neil Lane diamond ring during the 2021 finale of Paradise, telling her, “I am so in love with you and I can’t imagine my life without you.” Mari, who first appeared on The Bachelor and charmed Matt, moved from Maryland to Chicago to start a life with Kenny. Before their November 2023 wedding – a 65-guest ceremony held on a Puerto Rican beach – the couple solidified their commitment with matching tattoos during a trip to the Bahamas in May 2023. Kenny was previously eliminated by Tayshia Adams during week five of Paradise.

Status: Married

Becca Kufrin, who previously starred on The Bachelorette, and Thomas Jacobs, known from Katie Thurston’s season of The Bachelor, found love on season seven of Bachelor in Paradise in 2021. They initially broke up during filming but later got back together.

In May 2022, they announced their engagement, revealing that Becca was the one who proposed. She told TopMob News she hoped their unconventional approach would encourage others to break tradition. Thomas returned the gesture by proposing to her in October. In September 2023, they welcomed their son, Benson, with Becca sharing on Instagram that no words could express how much love they felt for him.

Just weeks after Benson’s birth, the couple had a surprise wedding ceremony on October 13th.
