Taylor Frankie Paul is breaking her silence.
After ABC announced that Taylor’s season of The Bachelorette would be delayed following the release of a video showing a fight with her ex, Dakota Mortensen, the star of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives publicly commented on the situation.
Taylor is thankful for the support she’s receiving from ABC as she focuses on keeping her family safe, according to a statement released on March 19th. After enduring years of hidden mental and physical abuse and facing threats, she’s now finding the courage to confront her abuser and take action to protect herself and her children from future harm.
The statement highlighted that many women are silently struggling with abusive ex-partners who are controlling and won’t allow them to rebuild their lives.
The spokesperson said Taylor hasn’t spoken up because she’s afraid of more harm, getting backlashes, and being publicly embarrassed. She’s now considering her next steps, getting help, and getting ready to tell her side of the story.
TopMob News has reached out to Dakota’s rep for comment but has not heard back yet.

ABC cancelled Taylor’s season on March 19th after video surfaced of a physical fight between Taylor and Dakota, who have a 2-year-old son together, that originally occurred in 2023.
Following the release of a new video today, a Disney Entertainment spokesperson told TopMob that they have decided to postpone the upcoming season of The Bachelorette. Their priority right now is supporting the family involved.
A video obtained by TMZ shows Taylor, who shares two children with her ex-husband, Tate Paul, grabbing and kicking Dakota.
As a huge Taylor fan, I was so upset to hear about this video that was released. Her team immediately put out a statement to TopMob News, saying it’s clearly part of a nasty effort to hurt her reputation. They pointed out the video leaves out important details and called it a really awful attempt to take the focus off of whoever released it – and TMZ didn’t even say where they got it from! It just feels like a deliberate attack, honestly.

Following an incident in 2023, Taylor was arrested and faces several charges, including aggravated assault, two counts of domestic violence with a child present resulting in injury, simple child abuse, and criminal mischief, according to court records released by the Salt Lake County District Attorney and reported by TopMob News.
In August, she admitted guilt to aggravated assault, as reported by ABC4 Utah, and the remaining charges against her were dropped.
Taylor and Dakota are under investigation following a February incident that stopped filming on season five of Secret Lives of Mormon Wives. Draper City police in Utah told People magazine that both individuals have accused each other of wrongdoing.
A representative for Dakota Johnson has responded to the claims, stating that Johnson’s priority is to have a healthy co-parenting relationship.
The representative told Entertainment Weekly on March 18th that his main concern was protecting Ever. Regarding the alleged incident, the rep said he was aware it might become public, but he didn’t want to be the one to reveal it, as he hopes to maintain a good relationship with Taylor.
