Taylor Selfridge, Cory Wharton’s 3-Year-Old Daughter Maya Hospitalized

Taylor Selfridge and Cory Wharton‘s family is weathering another health crisis.

Taylor says her 3-year-old daughter, Maya, has been hospitalized for 16 days. Maya was born with tricuspid atresia, a rare heart condition that makes it hard for blood to flow to the lungs.

Okay, so I’ve been following everything, and honestly, this hospital stay is the WORST one yet – and that’s saying something! I saw she posted on Snapchat (Us Weekly shared it, thankfully!) that things are finally looking up, and she’s getting better. I’m seriously hoping she gets to come home soon, I’m so worried about her!

Taylor, who is also mom to 5-year-old Mila with Cory, recently shared that Maya is recovering well, but will likely need therapy to process what happened.

She’s recovering well,” the former MTV star shared. “We’re optimistic that we’ll be able to leave the hospital this week.

Maya was hospitalized just six months after undergoing a second open-heart surgery. During that surgery, doctors performed a Fontan procedure to help improve how blood flows through her body.

Cory shared on Instagram in October that even though things seem to be improving, new difficulties keep appearing as they continue to recover. They plan to address each challenge as it arises.

Maya went home 13 days after her surgery, and the reality TV star said her family can now “finally start a new chapter and move on.”

Cory shared their relief, writing, “We finally finished!” They explained that their daughter’s heart condition had been successfully treated, and expressed gratitude to the cardiologists and surgeons involved.

Taylor and Cory’s relationship has been years in the making, starting when they met on the set of Ex on the Beach in 2017. Adding to their story, Taylor’s daughter, Maya, was diagnosed with tricuspid atresia before she was born.

As a close follower, I remember Cory sharing last year on Instagram that Maya needed at least two open-heart surgeries. He explained that her first surgery in 2022 unfortunately didn’t go the way they’d hoped.

He explained they were unexpectedly in the intensive care unit for two weeks, when doctors had initially predicted a four or five-day stay. He believes this difficult experience is a major source of his current emotional distress, and he suspects he’s experiencing some symptoms of post-traumatic stress.

Cory, who also has an 8-year-old daughter named Ryder with his ex, Cheyenne Floyd, described his youngest child as strong and resilient, calling them a “warrior.”

He added, “MAYA’S GOT THIS.”

Former Total Bellas star revealed that one of her breast implants moved after being hit in the chest by Piper Niven during a wrestling match in July 2025.

She reassured her sister, Bella Garcia, saying they would get the issue resolved eventually. She explained to the doctor that as soon as she finished her current commitments – implying after her divorce was finalized – she would return to address the problem and ensure everything looked its best, because she anticipated needing to show it off in the future and it couldn’t appear in its current condition.

Lupita Nyong’o received a diagnosis of uterine fibroids—non-cancerous growths in or around the uterus—in 2014, the year she won an Academy Award for her acting performance.

She didn’t share her diagnosis until 2025, when she revealed on Instagram that she had been privately struggling with the condition for over ten years.

She explained that growing up, people are often told that periods are painful and that pain is just something women have to deal with. This leaves many of us feeling like we’re going through a difficult experience all by ourselves.

In July 2025, the actress from Daisy Jones & The Six revealed she was hospitalized for a hernia. This happened because she had been wearing pants that were too tight, which caused a gap to form in her abdominal muscles.

She messaged Suki on X (formerly Twitter), saying, “You haven’t tweeted in ages!” Then, jokingly, she added, “Have you ever thought maybe those super-tight pants I wore six months ago gave me a hernia, and I’ve just been too embarrassed to say anything?”

I was so worried to hear that my favorite Beverly Hills, 90210 star had surgery! He shared back in April 2025 that his appendix almost ruptured, and he’s been recovering since then. I’m just glad he’s doing better now.

Brian shared in an Instagram video that he recently experienced stomach pain, which led him to the emergency room. He explained that his appendix had a perforation – it hadn’t fully burst, but was very close to doing so.

He added, “I’m on the road to recovery. It’s not an easy process. This is my first major surgery.”

A Racing Louisville midfielder fell to the ground early in her team’s game against Seattle Reign on September 14th at Lumen Field in Seattle.

According to Reuters, the U.S. Women’s National Team player sat down on the field with a teammate supporting her, and then quickly collapsed. Trainers were immediately called to assess her condition.

After receiving immediate medical attention on the field, Savannah was taken to a nearby hospital for more tests, according to a statement from the National Women’s Soccer League. They reported that she is currently in stable condition and is alert.

Adam Devine revealed that injuries from being hit by a cement truck at age 11 still cause him problems today.

“It’s been incredibly difficult,” Devine shared on the In Depth With Graham Bensinger podcast in 2025. “I experience spasms throughout my body, and doctors recently told me I was facing a life-threatening situation—within the last year, actually.”

He explained that his pain is intermittent, saying his body has a few minor imperfections and isn’t quite working as it should.

A former contestant on The Bachelor recently went to the hospital because of severe back pain. He described being in so much pain that he had to crawl on his hands and knees, and the pain worsened during a road trip with a friend.

He described a strange tingling sensation that still lingered in his legs as of March 2025, sharing this on his Trading Secrets podcast. To illustrate the extent of the issue, he explained that just a few weeks prior, he’d been able to squat 295 pounds. Now, he couldn’t even manage a single squat or a one-legged squat without falling, comparing the feeling to having had a stroke.

But with the help of a back specialist and some steroids, he added, “We’re on the mend.”

Gina Kirschenheiter, from The Real Housewives of Orange County, revealed that her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter, had a heart attack in March 2025, but he is now doing okay.

Oh my gosh, it was terrifying! I was there, you know, at the Knicks game in March 2025, and poor Tracy Morgan… he just suddenly didn’t look well. They had to wheel him out of Madison Square Garden! I was so worried about him, it was awful to see.

The comedian later posted on social media to explain he’d actually gotten food poisoning and was starting to feel better.

In February 2025, the former Even Stevens star revealed she was shot in the face during a birthday outing with her husband, Brendan Rooney. They were on a trip to go clay pigeon shooting when the incident occurred.

In an Instagram post, she explained that she was accidentally shot in the face by someone else at a party. They fired a weapon unsafely, and she was hit five times, with one bullet narrowly missing her right eye. @thebrendanrooney quickly helped her by checking her injuries and rushing her to the hospital.

The Kim Possible actress explained that a small piece of something is stuck behind her eye. Doctors have advised against removing it with surgery right now, but they will continue to watch her condition closely. She currently has normal vision.

The actress expressed immense gratitude for surviving a frightening experience. She shared how much she cherishes her daughters, husband, family, and friends, explaining that facing a life-threatening situation made her realize how quickly things can change. She urged everyone to hug their loved ones often, emphasizing the importance of appreciating every moment with them.

Amy Schumer is grateful for the internet, despite its downsides, because it helped her discover a health issue. After noticing she looked “puffier” and facing criticism online, doctors began commenting on interviews, suggesting she might have Cushing syndrome, a condition often linked to high cortisol levels or steroid injections. This prompted Amy to realize she’d been receiving steroid injections after a breast reduction and C-section. She later learned she had a form of Cushing syndrome that would resolve on its own, which she called “the greatest news imaginable.” Amy shared this update in a February 2024 newsletter, relieved to be healthy.

During a game in December 2024, an AHL player was accidentally cut in the face by another player’s skate and needed 25 stitches to close the wound. After his son made a full recovery, New Jersey Devils General Manager Tom Fitzgerald shared with ESPN how relieved they were, saying, “We feel very lucky, and no parent should have to go through that.”

In March 2022, Hailey Bieber experienced a frightening health scare while having breakfast with her husband, Justin Bieber. She suddenly developed stroke-like symptoms, struggling to speak and noticing her face drooping. Though the symptoms briefly subsided, she went to the hospital for testing. Doctors discovered she’d had a small blood clot travel to her brain, which they identified as a TIA (Transient Ischemic Attack). Further investigation at UCLA revealed Hailey had a hole in her heart, called a patent foramen ovale (PFO). This hole allowed the blood clot to reach her brain, causing the TIA. Hailey has since undergone a successful procedure to close the PFO and is now recovering well.

The same year Hailey faced a health issue, Justin also experienced one. In June 2022, he revealed he had been diagnosed with Ramsay Hunt syndrome, which caused temporary paralysis on one side of his face. This forced him to cancel the remaining dates of his Justice World Tour.

In a video posted to Instagram, Justin explained that the virus affected the nerves in his ear and face, preventing him from blinking, smiling, or moving his nostril on the affected side. He also shared that it was becoming increasingly difficult to eat.

Fortunately, the paralysis eventually went away. Hailey later appeared on Good Morning America and said Justin was recovering well, adding that while the situation was frightening and unexpected, he was going to be okay and she was grateful he was fine.

As a huge fan, I was so worried when I heard about Jamie Foxx’s health scare last year. He kept things pretty quiet at first, but he finally shared what happened in his new Netflix special, and it was really eye-opening. He was in Atlanta and got a terrible headache. He asked someone for aspirin, but actually passed out before he could take it – and he doesn’t remember the next twenty days!

At first, a doctor just gave him a cortisone shot and sent him home, but thankfully his sister, Deidra, knew something wasn’t right and took him to the hospital. That’s when they discovered he’d had a brain bleed that led to a stroke.

Twenty days later, on May 4th, he woke up in a wheelchair, unable to walk. He had to go to Chicago for months of rehab and therapy to regain his strength. He’s incredibly grateful for all the prayers he received, saying he truly needed every single one. It’s amazing to see him doing better and sharing his story – he’s a true inspiration!

The reality TV star shared that she temporarily stopped breathing while running a mile during the first challenge on the NBC competition show.

She shared on the show Fit for TV: The Reality of The Biggest Loser that her memory of the event was fragmented. She recalled hearing a helicopter, feeling like she was floating, and then seeing her grandfather. After that, everything went dark, but she then experienced a bright light, leading her to realize she had died that day.

She explained that her organs were failing. She hadn’t known she had rhabdomyolysis, a condition where the body essentially begins to shut down.

As a huge fan of Emilia Clarke, I was absolutely floored when I read her essay detailing her health battles. It all started during the filming of Game of Thrones. She described having a terrible headache at the gym, and then suddenly collapsing and being violently ill. She quickly realized something was seriously wrong – she knew her brain was damaged.

It turned out she’d suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, a life-threatening stroke caused by a ruptured aneurysm. She had immediate surgery, which she described as incredibly painful. While recovering, she even experienced aphasia, finding it difficult to speak and sometimes just muttering nonsense. Thankfully, that passed after about a week, and she was discharged from the hospital after a month.

But that wasn’t the end of it. A scan in 2013 revealed the aneurysm had doubled in size, requiring another surgery. This one was even more frightening – the first attempt failed, she suffered a massive bleed, and doctors warned her chances of survival were slim if they didn’t operate again. This time, they had to open her skull to reach her brain.

It’s incredible and so inspiring to hear that she’s now at 100 percent. Her openness about these incredibly difficult experiences is truly remarkable, and I admire her strength so much.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always moved by stories of family support, and Cori Broadus, Snoop Dogg’s daughter, recently shared a really powerful one. She experienced a severe stroke back in January 2024, and she told TopMob News that her family immediately rallied around her. It was amazing to hear her say that ‘everybody just came to my rescue!’ Her hospital stay ended up being longer than expected, not just because of the stroke, but also due to existing health concerns with her lupus and kidneys. Thankfully, Cori is now recovering well! She says she’s feeling great and just focused on regaining some motor skills. It’s a beautiful reminder of the importance of loved ones during challenging times, and I’m so happy to hear she’s on the mend.

Shailene Woodley struggled with significant health issues throughout her 20s. In a September 2024 podcast interview, she described a time when she was losing her hearing, unable to walk for more than a few minutes without needing to rest for hours, and experiencing constant stomach pain. She faced a confusing array of diagnoses and conflicting advice from doctors.

Determined to find answers, Woodley, who comes from a holistic health background and studies herbalism, sought help from both traditional doctors and alternative healers. This search for well-being lasted for a decade.

Throughout this challenging time, her physical discomfort led to deeper issues, including fear of food and struggles with body image, identity, and feeling comfortable in her own body.

Ultimately, Woodley’s health improved. She shared that the issues resolved themselves and she is now very healthy and happy.
