Taylor Sheridan’s New 6-Part Western Series Debuts To Solid Rotten Tomatoes Score

Early reviews are positive for Taylor Sheridan’s new Western series, The Madison, and it currently has a good score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Taylor Sheridan, the creator of Yellowstone, has a new show called The Madison premiering on Paramount+ on March 14th. The first season has six episodes, with three available immediately and the remaining three released the following Saturday. Good news for fans: the show has already been renewed for a second season and filming has been completed.

Critics are generally positive about “The Madison,” giving it an 80% score on Rotten Tomatoes as of March 13th, the day before its release. However, this is based on only 10 reviews, so the score may change. Once the show starts streaming on Paramount+ on March 14th, viewers will also be able to share their opinions and contribute to an audience score.

Taylor Sheridan wrote and created The Madison, a story about the Clyburn family. They relocate from New York City to the Madison River valley in Montana hoping to heal after a terrible loss. The series stars Michelle Pfeiffer and Kurt Russell, both of whom have received Oscar nominations.

The film stars Patrick J. Adams (known for Suits), Elle Chapman, Matthew Fox (an Emmy nominee from Lost), Beau Garrett, Amiah Miller, Ben Schnetzer, Kevin Zegers, Rebecca Spence, Alaina Pollack, and Danielle Vasinova. Will Arnett, who has received seven Emmy nominations for shows like Arrested Development, 30 Rock, and BoJack Horseman, makes a guest appearance.

In a review for ScreenRant, Ana Dumaraog gave The Madison a 9 out of 10 rating, praising it as a refreshing break from Taylor Sheridan’s typical Westerns. She notes that the show successfully moves away from the formula of Yellowstone, which is a key part of its appeal.

I’m really liking what I’m hearing about The Madison so far! It sounds like everyone’s been impressed, especially with the acting. One critic, Paul McGuire Grimes, even said Michelle Pfeiffer is the “heart and soul” of the show, which is huge! Richard Roeper over at RogerEbert.com called it “rock-solid, gripping television” that a lot of people will enjoy. It seems like the cast is really bringing Taylor Sheridan’s story to life – they’re definitely getting a lot of praise for making the series so good.

Many critics believe the show represents a shift for Taylor Sheridan, moving away from the large-scale drama of Yellowstone. Danielle Solzman from Solzy at the Movies notes that it demonstrates his ability to succeed with a more personal story, and Aidan Kelley of Collider calls it his most daring project to date. However, Nick Schager of The Daily Beast points out that some of Sheridan’s signature storytelling elements are still present in The Madison.
