Taylor Swift may have said “So Long London”—but it wasn’t for good.
The Grammy-winning artist, who usually avoids interviews, recently appeared on The Graham Norton Show on October 3rd to talk about her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl. During the show, she also revealed details about how her fiancé, Travis Kelce, proposed to her.
“He totally wowed me with his proposal,” Taylor revealed, according to People. “During our conversation on his podcast, he had an entire garden constructed in his backyard as the setting for the proposal.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’m hearing all the details, and let me tell you, he really pulled out all the stops – a solid 10 out of 10! Everyone’s eager to know more about the wedding, and when asked if she’d be sharing further details, she playfully hinted: – so keep your eyes peeled for more to come! It’s going to be exciting!
“I’d like to focus on the album first,” she said, “and then start planning the wedding. I think the planning process will be enjoyable.”
The singer discussed the making of her 12th album, explaining it was a private and personal project she worked on quietly in the background.
“I’ve definitely expanded my abilities,” she said. “I feel like I can tackle anything, even while running in heels. I’m now comfortable writing more complex song sections, hitting higher notes, and using falsetto. The tour really boosted my confidence.”
Taylor revealed her new album during an appearance on the August 13th episode of her fiancé’s podcast New Heights, explaining that the inspiration behind it came from her incredibly popular The Eras Tour.
The singer-songwriter explained, “This album reflects what I was experiencing internally during the tour,” adding, “It was a really exuberant, electric, and vibrant time.”
“After everything is said and done, you’ll likely be up until 4 AM,” Taylor explained, “but you had to overcome so many challenges – a huge number of obstacles – just to get through your show. And you succeeded. You’ve now won two episodes consecutively, and you did it tonight.”
A significant event happening during The Eras Tour was Taylor Swift meeting and falling in love with a player from The Kansas City Chiefs. They became engaged soon after recording a podcast together.
“It really stems from a time when I was feeling incredibly happy, free-spirited, and full of life,” Taylor explained, “and that energy definitely shines through on this album.”
Travis has also revealed what his favorite song is on The Life of a Showgirl.
“I think ‘Opalite’ is currently my favorite,” Travis shared on the August 27th episode of New Heights. “I always find myself paying attention whenever it plays, at least for now.”
Not only does Taylor have the support of her fiancé, but also her besties like Zoë Kravitz.
“I’ve been hearing great things,” Zoë playfully told TopMob News in August. “She consistently delivers amazing work. That’s just her style. It’s enjoyable to see how enthusiastically people respond to her creations, and you can tell she’s incredibly dedicated. She truly pours her heart and soul into everything she does.”

According to how their relationship began, Travis Kelce first caught Taylor Swift‘s attention when he talked about being unable to give her a friendship bracelet with his phone number on it. He shared this story on the New Heights podcast in July 2023, while discussing the Eras Tour concert at Arrowhead Stadium.
Apparently, Taylor says Travis didn’t initially contact her team to arrange a potential meeting.
She jokingly recalled in an August 2025 New Heights episode that he assumed his acquaintance with the elevator operator would allow him access to her dressing room. “He basically thought, ‘I have connections. I can make this happen,'” she explained.
As for the friendship bracelet, Taylor said she’s still “never seen the original.”
Travis explained the precise moment he realized he wanted to pursue Taylor romantically. He shared on his podcast, “If I hadn’t gone to that show and been completely captivated, and then felt such a strong urge to meet you, I wouldn’t be here today telling everyone how upset I was.”
Describing his strong interest in Taylor, the athlete went on to say, “It’s amazing how easily you can energize a whole stadium. But then, when we’re alone together, it feels like I’ve known you my whole life.” He explained he was “so engulfed in the curiosity” of Taylor. And then I get you in a room and it’s like I’ve known you forever.”
It was a sentiment shared by Taylor, who responded, “I felt the same exact way about you.”
“Whatever Andy Reid says, we’re gonna stand by,” Taylor responded. “That’s what happened.”
She shared that her father, Scott Swift, has been friends with the Kansas City Chiefs coach for a long time, and he’s been attending her concerts for years.
Taylor mentioned that her father “is the most social man who’s ever been born,” and shared that she’s “always had a really positive vibe” when she’s around Andy.
I wasn’t familiar with the sports he played, but I recognized him as my dad’s friend, Andy Reid,” she explained. “Looking back, I realize he’s become the most iconic and legendary coach ever.”
In the end, Andy supported Travis-and many of Taylor’s family and friends also spoke positively about him after he took a chance and appeared on New Heights.
Taylor remembered her cousins repeatedly urging her, ‘Please, he’s incredible.’ She also noted that she heard a lot of people talking about him, which she found unusual. According to Taylor, people were eager to support and defend him.
Oh my gosh, you will not believe this! Our queen, the Grammy winner, actually messed up when she tried to ask Travis Kelce, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end, a question about *football* on their first date! Can you imagine?! It’s just… so relatable, and makes me love her even more! She admitted she totally fumbled it, but honestly, it’s adorable. It just proves she’s a normal person, even with all her success!
Taylor remembered asking him about what the Super Bowl was like when the Chiefs played the Eagles. He looked across the field, and Taylor said, “he saw his brother standing just five feet away.”
After two years, Taylor recognized that asking the question had been a bit over the top, because the brothers never actually played on the field together at the same time given their different positions. However, she shared that Travis took the time to carefully explain the game to her, which ultimately sparked her love for the sport.
She remembered him saying, ‘To be clear, I’m playing offense, and so is my brother. I’m only on the field when the defense is also out there.’ She explained that she had always assumed everyone played at the same time.
When Taylor announced her 12th album is scheduled to be released on October 3, 2025, she explained that she deliberately chose only 12 songs for The Life of a Showgirl. She wanted to maintain a high standard and ensure the album felt complete and thematically consistent (and confirmed that no additional songs will be released).
The inspiration was about going “behind the curtain” of the Eras Tour.
Taylor explained that this album reflected her private emotional experiences while on tour, describing that time as full of energy, excitement, and life.
As a lifestyle expert, I can tell you that this album really captures a feeling! It all stems from such a wonderfully joyful, energetic, and vibrant time in my life. That pure effervescence – that bubbly, lively spirit – just naturally came through in the music. It’s about embracing those moments and letting your true self shine. You can really feel it!
Whenever Taylor had a break from touring, she’d fly to Sweden to write with Max Martin and Shellback. It was amazing to see how they crafted these incredibly catchy songs – what some call “infectious anthems”! I especially loved that she co-wrote the song that opens the Eras Tour with Sabrina Carpenter – such a perfect choice!
Besides “The Life of a Showgirl,” the album will include these songs: “The Fate of Ophelia,” “Elizabeth Taylor,” “Opalite,” “Father Figure,” “Eldest Daughter,” “Ruin the Friendship,” “Actually Romantic,” “Wi$h Li$t,” “Wood,” “Cancelled!” and “Honey.”
As a lifestyle expert, I’m loving the buzz around this new album! A football player recently gave it a huge thumbs-up, calling all 12 tracks “bangers” and saying he’s listened to every single one. It’s always great to see support like that! Now, Jason, on the other hand, hasn’t had a chance to listen *yet*, but he’s playfully admitted he’s eager to get his hands on a copy before the Oct. 3 release date. Sounds like everyone’s excited!
Taylor pointed out that a really positive sign about Travis is that he’s kept the same friends since he was a young child – likely around 4 years old. She added that he’s excellent at nurturing those friendships, very loyal, and his friends are just as loyal to him.
After spending time with his friends in the NFL suite at Arrowhead Stadium, she remarked, “They are the funniest and most hilarious group of people.”
And Taylor’s game day behavior impressed Travis, too.
“So, you want to discuss positive signs?” he asked with a playful tone. “At her very first game, a Bears game, she actually entered the stadium through the main entrance, even though it was for general admission.”
That gesture instantly showed him she was eager to join the Chiefs’ fan base: “I just thought, ‘Okay, she’s fully committed. She’s up for anything and here to enjoy herself.’”
Something else Taylor loves about her NFL player boyfriend is that he didn’t criticize her for not knowing much about football.
“You’re incredibly accepting of others, and you didn’t make me feel bad for being clueless about your life,” she said to Travis. “I honestly didn’t even understand basic football terms – I didn’t know what a first down was. I didn’t know what a tight end was.”
And although Travis replied, “I am forever grateful for you fully embracing the world of football,” Taylor pointed out that she did much more than just get involved.
“I became obsessed with it,” she said. “My friends were like, ‘Who body snatched you?'”
Travis’ brother and cohost Jason Kelce became emotional when Taylor described Travis as a “human exclamation point,” explaining that his personality is like “when you take a photo on your phone and use the color enhance feature.”
“That’s how you impact everyone’s life,” Taylor said, as Jason smiled and seemed moved. “I’m using a lot more exclamation points these days.”
Taylor joked that all her hobbies are things people enjoyed back in the 1700s. She explained, “I enjoy sewing-I make children’s purses and baby blankets specifically. I also love to paint and love to cook.”
Actually, she confessed to going through a new baking phase every six months, and right now, sourdough is what “has taken up my life”, as she said during the recording of the episode. She described it as a complete obsession.
Taylor shared that she frequently bakes bread and often texts her friends asking if they’d like some, saying, ‘Can I send you some bread?‘ She also mentioned she spends time on sourdough-focused blogs. ‘I discovered there’s a whole community of people like me, and I had no idea!’ she added.
I was so excited to hear that Taylor talked about her baking! She revealed she’s been trying to perfect a new sourdough recipe, and it’s for Jason and Kylie Kelce‘s adorable daughters – Wyatt, Elliotte, Bennett and Finnley. It’s just so sweet of her!
I’ve been developing a recipe for my daughters, since they’re obsessed with rainbows – it’s Funfetti sourdough,” she shared. “They’re crazy about sprinkles, so we add them to everything when we spend time together.”
Besides hitting it off with Jason’s children, Taylor also connected with them over her cats: Meredith Grey, Olivia Benson, and Benjamin Button.
It was a truly wonderful challenge, especially because my aim was to show the children that the cats weren’t dangerous,” she explained. “And the best way to demonstrate that was simply letting them meet Benjamin, my rag-doll cat, who is so gentle he lets anyone hold him as if he were a baby.”
As a longtime fan, I was absolutely thrilled to hear that Taylor finally bought back the master recordings of her first six albums-Taylor Swift, Fearless, Speak Now, Red, 1989, and Reputation-in May 2025. It was amazing to see her win after fighting for years to regain ownership of her work!
Prior to finalizing the agreement with Shamrock Capital, the singer of “Bad Blood” had her mother, Andrea Swift, and brother, Austin Swift, manage the talks, choosing to do so “rather than send lawyers or management.”
I deal with people’s feelings, so I’d much prefer to approach this from a personal standpoint,” she said with tears in her eyes. “For me, it’s not about the potential profit. It’s about these being my personal diary entries, representing my entire life’s story.”
Taylor explained that her family had shared with Shamrock a history of attempts to purchase the property, detailing instances where deals fell through, plans were made, and potential agreements ultimately didn’t work out at the very last moment.
There are things you should and shouldn’t do,” she explained. “I’ll never include a hidden detail, or Easter egg, that relates to my private life. It will always be connected to my music, or something I’m working on releasing.”
Even though she playfully described the process as becoming “a little Zodiac killer,” Taylor stated she will continue to share clues as long as her fans are having fun with them.
She explained that she envisions Easter eggs as something that only dedicated fans will notice. If you’re just casually enjoying the music, you won’t even be aware they’re there. “If you know, you know,” she added.
According to Taylor, the idea of having Travis join her on stage all started out as a “bit.”
She described it as a thought that started as a playful, ‘wouldn’t it be funny if…’ idea. “But as we discussed it,” she said, “I noticed a little sparkle in [his] eye.”
But for Travis, it was anything but a joke. As he noted, “I was serious in a terrifying fashion.”
The singer behind the hit song “Cruel Summer” created her 12th studio album while on the European part of her Eras Tour, working with producers Max Martin and Shellback. Taylor explained that she would travel to Sweden to record whenever she had a few days off between concerts.
She explained that this album reflected her private emotional experiences while on tour, describing that time as being full of energy, excitement, and life. “which was so exuberant and electric and vibrant,” she said.
That’s why Taylor said the album is filled with “bangers.”
She explained that the music stems from a period of immense happiness, freedom, and excitement in her life, saying, “It just comes from the most infectiously joyful, wild, dramatic place I was in in my life,” and that feeling of liveliness is evident throughout the album: “so that effervescence has come through on this record.”
She shared that the album cover-photographed by Mert Alas and Marcus Piggot, who previously collaborated with her on the reputation photoshoot-reflected how she felt relaxing in the bath after a show on the Eras Tour.
Taylor thought, “After everything is said and done, you’ll be up until 4 AM, but you successfully navigated all the challenges of the show. You overcame so many obstacles, and you achieved two wins in a row – and you did it tonight.”
The artist requested a photo showing her more candid, behind-the-scenes side, rather than a glamorous stage shot. She explained that this album focuses on her personal struggles away from the spotlight, stating, “It’s not really about what happened to me onstage. It’s about what I was going through offstage… This, to me, tells more of what the actual contents lyrically of the album are.”
Even though the album cover is a fresh, minty green and features Taylor in a swimming pool, she explained that the Life of a Showgirl period is represented by the color orange to reflect its cheerful and bright feeling.
It really reflects how I’ve been feeling internally,” she shared thoughtfully. “And this album explores what was happening privately within me during the tour-a time that was incredibly energetic, exciting, and full of life.”
“We don’t,” she said directly. “Whatever you expose your mind to, it will absorb. But anything you put on the internet, it will destroy. I’ve worked in the music industry for 20 years. It’s difficult to offend me at this point.”
Actually, Taylor jokingly said, “It’s possible for something to be *about* me, my name can even be in the headline, yet it still has nothing to do with me.”
The singer explained she’s been working on creating a healthy balance by limiting her time on social media, saying she’s been trying to “mediate a really healthy relationship with not seeing a whole lot.” She further added, “I do detach from the internet in a huge way.”
Taylor explained she spent the summer of 2025 caring for her father after he had a quintuple bypass. She described him as the “loveliest patient ever” and said he’s been doing “incredibly well” since the surgery.
She said he was at his funniest-which is saying something, because he’s normally a very funny guy. He had no idea how many blockages he’d had, and I told him, ‘Dad, you had a quintuple bypass-five blockages! That’s incredible, more than any of us expected.’ And he replied, ‘Well, you see, I grew up in a really competitive family.’
Andrea has also been “doing great” after getting a new knee this summer, according to Taylor.
“They’re two of my closest friends, and I absolutely love them,” the Miss Americana star said about her parents. “Getting to spend so much time with them this summer was truly one of the best experiences of my life. It allowed for those deeper conversations you don’t usually have when you’re only together for a short time.”
“That rumor isn’t true!” she stated, referring to the claim that she played a bear in a costume for the 2025 Adam Sandler comedy, which also featured Travis. “I’m flattered they even considered me for the part, as I really enjoyed that film.”
Taylor added, “Whoever did the bear’s acting was exquisite.”
Her favorite moment from watching the guy on the Chiefs actually involved his mom Donna Kelce.
I remember being in the suite when Travis won the AFC Championship,” Taylor shared. “Everyone was going crazy, just screaming! Then his mom said, ‘Okay, let’s head down to the field.’ And I was so surprised – I asked, ‘What? What do you mean?’
Taylor mentioned that she and Travis hadn’t talked about her coming onto the field beforehand, and she was concerned he might react with something like, “What are you doing here, dude?”
“[Donna] was like, ‘Trust me he wants you there,'” she remembered. “And I was like, ‘OK, well, she would know.'”
Ultimately, Taylor is happy she listened to Donna and was able to have that “magical” time with Travis-despite being surprised by “never having seen this many cameras” before.
