Taylor Swift is making the whole place shimmer thanks to Travis Kelce.
The engagement ring from the NFL star, given to the singer of “Bejeweled”, was clearly visible when the couple recently dined at Travis’ 1587 Prime steakhouse in Kansas City, Missouri.
Wearing a black tank top, a plaid skirt, and leather boots, Taylor excitedly showed off her sparkling ring while hugging Travis in a group picture with Jeremiah Sims, the owner of Resupply Clothing. Sims shared the photo on Instagram on October 2.
Taylor’s outfit gave off Reputation vibes, steering clear of the style of The Life of a Showgirl, while Travis went with a more athletic look, sporting a pink Jacquemus polo shirt and black shorts for the event.
Even though the Grammy-winning singer might happily marry Travis with simple paper rings, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end proposed with a stunning Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond ring. The ring was custom-made by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry earlier this summer.
Besides the unique gemstone, the ring has a stylish yellow gold band. This band includes two smaller diamonds, positioned on either side of the central stone.
As for the proposal itself, Travis’ plans were anything but paper thin.
His father, Ed Kelce, shared with The Jimmy and Nath Show in August that he was planning a really elaborate announcement. He wanted it to be extra special.
However, Ed mentioned that both he and Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, suggested he keep things uncomplicated, noting that “asking her is what’s going to make it special.”
“Not where you do it,” the patriarch noted. “You could do it on the side of the road.”
As a huge fan, I’ve been so happy to hear how things are going for Travis! He recently shared on the September 3rd episode of his New Heights podcast that announcing his engagement has been amazing. He said, “It’s been really fun telling everybody who I’m going to be spending the rest of my life with,” and just added, “It’s been awesome.” It’s so great to see him so happy!
For everything to know about Taylor and Travis’ wedding plans, keep reading.
Oh my gosh, can you even *imagine* Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce getting married on just *any* old day? No way! It absolutely *has* to be a date that means something special to them – or at the very least, to *her*. I just know she’d want it to be perfect and full of significance, it’s just so Taylor!
I’m really into numerology. I enjoy math and dates,” the well-known lover of the number 13 excitedly shared on the August 13th episode of New Heights, her remarkably long two-hour conversation on her fiancé’s podcast released 13 days before they revealed they were engaged (though, according to Travis’ father, it was three days after they told close friends and family about becoming a couple). “I genuinely find that kind of thing really enjoyable.”
The decision of whether Travis, who will be 36 years old on October 5th, continues playing in the NFL after his current contract ends in 2025 will also influence when they set their wedding date. If he doesn’t retire from football, their wedding will take place during the off-season, sometime between the Super Bowl in February and the start of training camp in July.
If Travis decides to retire after playing for 13 seasons (wow, that feels strange to say!), he’ll be available to get married in October, which is Taylor’s favorite month. Of course, he could marry her at any time, but things will become clearer once fans find out if-and when-Taylor will announce a tour for The Life of a Showgirl. Her 12th album comes out on October 3rd, and she typically reveals tour dates within a month of releasing a brand new album (rather than a re-recording).
When Taylor picks out a white dress, it’s going to be one to remember.
Setting aside the cost of her high-end clothes and seemingly effortless jewelry, the singer’s style is approachable yet fashionable-think timeless looks with a modern edge. We imagine pieces from designers she frequently wears, such as Oscar de la Renta, Elie Saab, Louis Vuitton, Zuhair Murad, or J. Mendel.
Following the ceremony, where she’ll say her vows while wearing a beautiful gown, the 5-foot-10 bride will almost certainly change into a more comfortable party dress, perfect for dancing the night away.
We’re excited to see how she incorporates the traditional elements of something old, something new, something borrowed, and something blue into her look.
Travis is also into fashion, meaning he’s excited to choose a wedding suit that really reflects his style, in whatever way he envisions it. He’s going to have fun with it.
His decision to wear shorts when he proposed – it was a hot August in Kansas, after all – led to some playful online challenges suggesting he wear dressy shorts for the wedding too. However, that would be a rather unconventional choice, and he probably wouldn’t want to draw focus away from his partner, who will be wearing a beautiful dress.
Although, if showing off his knees was important to him…
As a longtime fan, I remember reading Taylor’s interview with Cosmopolitan back in 2012. She was addressing concerns about being *too* prepared for her future relationship, and specifically wanted to make sure she hadn’t already picked out a tuxedo for her future husband! She explained, “I don’t want him to wonder if it even matters if he’s there.” It was so relatable – she just wanted him to feel like his presence truly mattered, and that she hadn’t pre-planned everything!
For Taylor and Travis, family is the most important thing, so their parents and brothers are naturally key people at the wedding. Jason Kelce, who is likely to be the best man, has two young daughters, Wyatt and Elliotte, with his wife Kylie Kelce-and his younger sister Bennett might be old enough to be a flower girl too, depending on the wedding date. (However, baby Finnley is probably too young to participate.)
It will be interesting to see which of Travis’ teammates from the Kansas City Chiefs are invited, but he was a groomsman at QB Patrick Mahomes‘ wedding to Brittany Mahomes in 2022, meaning at least one player from the team will likely be there. Plus, he’s maintained a close group of friends since his high school days in Cleveland Heights, so that golf-and-beer-filled bachelor party is going to be lit.
Regarding the bride, Taylor’s longtime close friend Abigail Anderson has consistently been a significant presence in her life. Although Taylor’s well-known group of friends has changed over time, Selena Gomez remains part of her closest circle – they still exchange homemade sourdough bread, as do Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds, even though there have been reports of a disagreement due to the actress’ ongoing legal issues.
And speaking of possible flower girls, it’s worth noting that Taylor is already a godmother – to Blake and Ryan’s daughters.
When discussing whether to have a band or a DJ, Travis shared on the September 17th episode of New Heights, “I believe we generally prefer live music, you know?”
Ugh, we knew it, we’re so on the same page.
Regardless of whether the bride decides to take a break from performing, she has many friends who are talented singers. (We’re particularly thinking of Haim.)
Taylor may love Travis so much she’d marry him with paper rings, but that won’t be the case.
If he continues to play sports, he might wear one of his flexible wedding bands, but generally, his fiancée’s ring-an Old Mine Brilliant Cut diamond chosen by Kindred Lubeck of Artifex Fine Jewelry-is the one he’s settled on.
The engagement ring has a long, central diamond with smaller diamonds on either side. It’s set in yellow gold that has been specially engraved-and it perfectly complements the $27,300 Cartier watch Taylor wore during the proposal.
Just how massive will this white veil occasion be?
Dedicated Taylor Swift fan Nikki Glaser believes a large wedding is on the horizon. She told TopMob News at the 2025 MTV Video Music Awards, “It has to be. It’s all been leading to this.”
The comedian also pointed out that, because Taylor Swift essentially “gets to be a bride every day” in the public eye, the wedding will probably be kept as private as possible.
“She simply wants to share the joy with her family and friends, and she has a large circle of them,” Nikki explained. “I’m anticipating the helicopter photos that will inevitably cause some trouble for her, probably by flying overhead.”
As soon as the newly married couple leaves, though, it’s certain that Taylor will begin posting photos and videos from her wedding to her loyal fans. There’s no way she wouldn’t share moments from her special day with them.
