The weather may be rough, but this love is Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s.

I always tell couples to prioritize those special moments, even when life gets hectic! Just recently, I heard about a lovely pair who ventured out into the snowy New York City streets for a romantic dinner at Chez Margaux on February 24th. It’s a reminder that a little effort can create a really memorable night.

Taylor and Travis, both 36, looked affectionate as they left the club hand-in-hand. Travis, who proposed to Taylor in August, continued to be a perfect gentleman by opening the car door for her.

Both Taylor and Travis dressed warmly for their date, which happened shortly after a historic blizzard. Travis wore striped pants with a gray coat and beanie, and Taylor chose a black Louis Vuitton coat and leather boots.

The singer, known for her song “Opalite,” completed her look with a black Louis Vuitton bag featuring a brown monogram interior, silver jewelry, and her trademark red lipstick.

Taylor and Travis were last seen on a date in Los Angeles back in January, and they’ve generally kept a low profile recently. However, that doesn’t mean they’re out of touch with what’s happening in the world.

The NFL tight end recently revealed he and Taylor have been enjoying the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics, especially cheering on the U.S. men’s hockey team as they won gold against Canada on February 22nd. They’ve said they’ve been loving all of the Olympic events.

Travis Kelce told his brother Jason on their “New Heights” podcast that he and Taylor Swift watched the whole game. He described it as “epic,” saying it was full of non-stop action from beginning to end and kept him on the edge of his seat.

Okay, seriously, did anyone not see this coming? I mean, Taylor’s been dropping hints about loving the Winter Olympics for ages! It started when she commented on Breezy Johnson’s engagement post – so sweet! – and then she went and recorded a whole message for Team USA before the Opening Ceremony! I’m telling you, she’s totally obsessed with the Games, just like me! It’s the cutest thing ever, and I knew she wouldn’t be able to resist showing her support. I’m living for it!

Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship started in July 2023 when Swift’s Eras Tour visited Arrowhead Stadium in Kansas City, Missouri.

Being a big fan of Taylor Swift, the Kansas City Chiefs tight end wanted to give her a friendship bracelet with his jersey number on it at her concert. Unfortunately, he wasn’t able to reach her because she was busy preparing for the show.

Travis explained on his podcast, New Heights, that he was a little upset Taylor Swift didn’t chat with fans before or after her concerts. He understood she needed to protect her voice for the 44 songs she performs, but he was hoping to give her one of the friendship bracelets he’d made.

After jokingly talking about dropping the football – something he’d later call incredibly cool – Travis decided to take a chance and invited the famous singer to come see the Chiefs play at their home stadium.

He explained on The Pat McAfee Show that he challenged Taylor Swift, saying he’d noticed her energetic performances at Arrowhead Stadium and suggested she come see him perform there to compare crowds. He indicated something might happen soon.

You know, when I first saw Travis and Taylor together, it was interesting! He was already sporting a mustache – he’d actually grown it back in August during football training camp. It was definitely part of his look when they met, and honestly, it was a pretty bold statement!

He later recalled that his mustache and number 87 jersey were a memorable look during that time, and he was sporting them when he first met Taylor.

According to a source with knowledge of the situation, Travis and Taylor began communicating via text and phone calls in early September, according to TopMob News.

“It’s been very low-key,” the insider explained, “as he’s been in season.”

Taylor Swift accepted Travis Kelce’s invitation and went to Arrowhead Stadium to see him and the Kansas City Chiefs play the Chicago Bears, accompanied by Travis’s mother, Donna Kelce. After the game, Taylor and Travis were photographed showing affection for each other at a nearby bar.

Despite rumors that they met for the first time in person, the singer of “Karma” later explained that they had actually spent a good deal of time getting to know each other before that.

As Taylor noted, “We would never be psychotic enough to hard launch a first date.” 

To show how serious things were getting, Taylor brought a group of her friends – including Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Sophie Turner, Hugh Jackman, Sabrina Carpenter, and Antoni Porowski – to see the Kansas City Chiefs play the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey.

Taylor Swift seems to be getting close to Brittany Mahomes, the wife of Travis Kelce’s best friend and teammate, Patrick Mahomes, both at and away from NFL games. This could be another indication that she and Travis are a couple.

The couple publicly showcased their relationship with a surprise appearance on Saturday Night Live on October 14th. They continued the fun with the show’s after-party and a romantic dinner at the Waverly Inn.

During the team’s break, Travis flew to Argentina to see Taylor Swift perform on her Eras Tour. At the November 11th concert in Buenos Aires, he connected with Taylor’s father, Scott Swift, and Taylor even gave him a special mention from the stage.

“Karma is that guy on the Chiefs,” Taylor sang, “coming straight home to me.”

Following the performance, Taylor Swift rushed backstage and enthusiastically kissed Travis Kelce.

Taylor addressed the lavender craze surrounding her appearances at Travis’ games.

She told Time magazine that she’s excited to support him doing what he’s passionate about, and that they prioritize being there for each other, not worrying about who else is around. She contrasted this with the lengths people sometimes go to in order to keep a relationship secret.

 

The famous singer made Travis’s game on December 17th a family event, bringing her father along to support her boyfriend.

Taylor and Travis celebrated New Year’s Eve together and shared a kiss at midnight on January 1st.

Taylor continued getting to know Travis’ family and spent time with his brother, Jason Kelce, and sister-in-law, Kylie Kelce, at the Kansas City Chiefs game against the Buffalo Bills.

After the Chiefs won the AFC Championship and earned a place in the 2024 Super Bowl, Taylor joined Travis on the field to celebrate. They shared a kiss and then told each other ‘I love you’ for the first time.

Over two years after Travis mentioned Taylor on his podcast – a moment that quickly went viral – the couple announced their engagement. They playfully referenced Taylor’s song “So High School” in an Instagram post on August 26th, sharing photos of their engagement and writing, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
