Taylor Swift Treats Haim Sisters, Sombr to Homemade Sourdough Bread

Taylor Swift loaves to make her friends feel special.

Lana Del Rey had dinner in Los Angeles on January 9th with friends, including the members of the band HAIM – Este, Danielle, and Alana – and singer Sombr. Everyone in the group received a special gift after the meal.

After the group went to The Bird Streets Club, everyone received a loaf of sourdough bread in a brown paper bag. A sticker on Danielle’s loaf even hinted that Taylor baked them herself, with a playful message referencing one of her famous song lyrics: “Are you bready for it?”

Taylor Swift is no stranger to cooking. Earlier this year, in August, the Grammy-winning singer—who got engaged to Travis Kelce shortly after—revealed how much she enjoys making sourdough bread.

She admitted to constantly switching baking interests, saying, “I get really into one thing for about six months, then move on to the next.” She recently shared on Travis Kelce’s New Heights podcast that she’s currently completely focused on sourdough bread, and it’s become a major part of her life.

Taylor’s friends and family seem to be enjoying the success of her recent work, and she’s been asking for their opinions to become even better at what she does.

She explained that she’s constantly baking bread and asking her friends for their opinions. She’ll text them things like, ‘I made a loaf – what do you think? Is it better than the last one? I tried a new technique.’ She discovered a whole online community of sourdough baking enthusiasts, and it’s become a real passion for her.

Okay, so Taylor totally admitted she’s a little… different! She actually joked about being obsessed with stuff that feels like it belongs to a real old lady – seriously, she said ‘real granny st’ and I nearly died! But then she said something amazing – she thinks everything she does could have been a hobby back in the 1700s! It’s just… so her. I mean, it makes perfect sense, doesn’t it? It’s like she was born in the wrong century! I just love it so much!

Taylor Swift is a talented songwriter who writes all of her own music. However, her album Speak Now is especially unique because she wrote it completely on her own, without any collaborators. Released in October 2010, she was only 20 years old at the time.

She spent her childhood on a Christmas tree farm in Pennsylvania with her family, and that experience inspired her holiday song, which shares the same name.

3. She’s named after James Taylor. That’s right, from one music legend to another.

I was so fascinated to learn that Taylor Swift actually started her career as a model! Back in 2003, she modeled for Abercrombie & Fitch, and she wasn’t alone – Channing Tatum, Jennifer Lawrence, Emma Roberts, and Ashton Kutcher all did too. It’s amazing to see how many stars got their start that way!

Taylor Swift gave Eric Church his first gold record as a thank you for supporting her early in her career. Back in 2006, she joined Rascal Flatts on tour after Church was let go. Church recalled that Swift reached out to him after reading about his dismissal. She told him she admired his work. He playfully predicted she’d owe him a gold record if she became successful, and to his surprise, she actually sent him one when she achieved that milestone. It came with a handwritten note thanking him for his energetic performance on the Rascal Flatts tour.

Taylor Swift has unusually flexible elbows – she’s double-jointed. When asked about her hidden talents in a 2016 Vogue video, she jokingly shared this as something she can do, even though she admits it’s not a typical talent.

7. Her drink of choice? Vodka and Diet Coke, as revealed in that same Vogue video.

Okay, so she turned off the comments on everything, which, honestly, is brilliant. She wrote about it in Elle – it’s in this amazing essay called ’30 Things I Learned Before Turning 30′ – and she basically said social media is a minefield. Like, it’s great to connect, but it just throws all these images at you of everyone else seemingly living their best life, making you feel like you’re falling behind. She said she does this thing where she turns off comments to protect her brain from that constant need for approval. She’s still sharing updates with us, her fans, but she’s training herself not to need a million ‘you look amazing!’ comments to feel good. It’s so smart, honestly. She doesn’t need that ‘validation laser beam,’ as she calls it, and I totally get it!

Taylor Swift initially considered calling her seventh album Daylight, but she ultimately chose Lover. She felt Daylight was too obvious, given that the album came after reputation. After writing the song “Lover,” she decided it would be the perfect title for the album instead.

As a lifestyle expert, I’m always amazed by incredible achievements, and Taylor Swift’s is definitely one for the books! She made history as the youngest-ever solo artist to take home the Album of the Year award. Can you believe she was only 20 years old when she won for Fearless back in 2010? It’s a testament to her talent and connection with fans!

Taylor Swift is a big fan of Phoebe Waller-Bridge. She told Entertainment Weekly that Waller-Bridge’s show, Fleabag, is brilliant because it’s funny, shocking, and emotionally moving all at once. Interestingly, Taylor later appeared on Saturday Night Live during an episode hosted by the Fleabag star!

I was so impressed when Taylor wrote her own monologue for Saturday Night Live back in 2009! It’s pretty rare for guest hosts to do that, but she totally blew everyone away with “Monologue Song (La La La).” It really showed how talented she is, and the SNL team clearly recognized that!

Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez have been best friends since they both dated members of the Jonas Brothers back in 2008. Taylor dated Joe Jonas, while Selena dated his brother, Nick. They bonded quickly and have stayed close ever since, with Selena publicly supporting Taylor’s return to Saturday Night Live in 2021. Taylor is even set to be a flower girl at Selena’s wedding to Benny Blanco.

She’s a godmother to several children of her close friends, including Jaime King’s son Leo Thames, and the daughters of Blake Lively and Ryan Reynolds – James, Inez, and Betty.

Oh my gosh, you guys, Taylor has basically said she might never play “Soon You’ll Get Better” live. It’s so heartbreaking, but it makes total sense. She explained it back in August 2019 during that SiriusXM thing, and she said it was just… really hard to write, and even harder to sing or listen to. She said sometimes songs are just like that, you know? It’s such a personal song about her mom’s cancer, and it’s just… ugh, it gets me every time just thinking about it.

Taylor Swift doesn’t have the X app (formerly Twitter) on her phone. In an interview with Billboard, she explained that she often feels overwhelmed when using the platform and quickly closes it. She’s avoided having the app on her phone for a while because she prefers to limit her news intake. While she follows politics, she doesn’t want to keep up with celebrity gossip or fashion news, feeling that her brain has a limited capacity for information.

Taylor Swift has never sought professional therapy. In a 2019 interview with Rolling Stone, she explained that she relies heavily on her mother for support, saying, ‘My mom is the one who’s seen everything.’ She added that it would take a long time for anyone else to get up to speed on her life experiences, as her mother has witnessed it all firsthand.

In an interview, she revealed her favorite lyrics from her album Lover are: “Ladies and gentlemen, will you please stand? / With every guitar string scar on my hand/I take this magnetic force of a man to be my lover.”

Taylor Swift has officially become a billionaire! Bloomberg reported in October 2024 that the success of her Eras Tour, following years of record-breaking achievements, pushed her net worth over the billion-dollar mark.

Taylor Swift was deeply moved by the 2019 Netflix film, Someone Great. She explained to Elvis Duran that she cried while watching it and for days afterward, had vivid dreams where she was experiencing the movie’s events as if they were happening to her. Taylor Swift has stopped trying to avoid the paparazzi and is openly supportive of her fiancé, Travis Kelce. She’s been attending his NFL games since 2023, embracing their public relationship. As she explained to Time magazine, being in a public relationship means they can support each other openly, without needing to hide. They’re proud of each other and don’t mind being seen together, unlike having to go to great lengths to keep a relationship secret.

When Taylor and Travis announced their engagement on Instagram in August 2025, it became the platform’s most-reposted post ever. According to Billboard, using data from Meta, the announcement received over a million reposts.

30. The engagement also helped inspire Cambridge Dictionary’s 2025 word of the year, “Parasocial.”

Okay, so like, Taylor completely broke the internet with her album, The Life of a Showgirl! It came out in October 2025, and honestly, I was refreshing the sales pages constantly. The AP reported it sold 2.7 MILLION copies on the first day! I mean, can you even imagine? It’s officially history, and I was there for it, obviously!

32. Oh, and the album went on to sell 4 million copies in its first week alone.

In her Disney+ documentary, The End of an Era, Taylor Swift explained that The Eras Tour came about because of two main reasons: the loss of ownership of her earlier recordings and the COVID-19 pandemic.

After a lengthy legal fight, Taylor announced in May 2025 that she had regained ownership of the original recordings of her first six albums.

Taylor Swift revealed on The Stephen Colbert Show on December 10th that she used the money earned from her Eras Tour to regain ownership of her music, explaining, “My fans are the reason I was able to do that.”

As a dedicated fan, I was so impressed to learn that Taylor and her band were practicing the surprise songs for each show really quietly! They did this so that fans waiting outside the stadiums wouldn’t accidentally hear them and the surprises wouldn’t be spoiled. It just shows how much thought and care they put into everything for us!

Taylor Swift gave bonuses to her tour crew after finishing each segment of the Eras Tour, as revealed in her documentary.
