Disney+ is about to get a boost in viewership as Taylor Swift’s docuseries, ‘Taylor Swift: The End of an Era’, is now available. The series takes viewers behind the scenes of her incredibly popular Eras Tour and has already become a hit, quickly rising to the top of streaming charts after its first two episodes were released last week.

The premiere of the new episodes was released alongside a recording of Taylor Swift’s concert, The Eras Tour – The Final Show. This version features the setlist updated to include songs from her latest album, The Tortured Poets Department. While her previous concert film was very successful in theaters, it didn’t include this new material.

Currently, Taylor Swift: The End of an Era is the most popular TV series on Disney+ worldwide, according to FlixPatrol. It’s followed closely by Percy Jackson and the Olympians, which is expected to be its main competition throughout December. Percy Jackson quickly became a streaming success when its second season launched just before The End of an Era, and more episodes are on the way.

New episodes of Percy Jackson will be released weekly until January 21, 2026, for a total of eight episodes in its second season. Disney sees the fantasy series as a strong asset, as it closely follows the popular books by Rick Riordan. As for End of an Era, only two episodes remain – they will be released in two batches, on December 19th and December 26th.

Although both series were released around the same time, End of an Era is currently performing much better. They both appear in the Top 10 series in the US today, but End of an Era is ahead. While Taylor Swift’s larger fanbase will likely keep it in the lead for a while, that could change in the future.

While the docuseries likely won’t hold viewers’ attention for long after its full release, Percy Jackson is expected to gain momentum with each new episode released over the next month. The real measure of which Disney+ show is more popular will be during the holidays, when both are competing for the same viewers.

Though very different in content, both Percy Jackson and the Olympians and Taylor Swift: The End of an Era are special releases designed for devoted fans. It looks like these two shows will likely be the most popular on Disney+ for a while, and many viewers will enjoy watching both.
