DC Studios has exciting plans for Superman fans! In addition to the upcoming Supergirl movie later this year and the Superman sequel, Man of Tomorrow, slated for next year, DC is celebrating Superman Day with the announcement of a new, immersive attraction called Superman Experience: Defenders Unite. This experience will allow fans to team up with Superman, interact with Krypto, and much more.
The Superman Experience: Defenders Unite is a brand new, interactive attraction created by Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and DC Studios. Opening on Superman Day (April 18th) at Stage 5 on the Warner Bros. Studios Lot, this walkthrough adventure lets guests discover and use their own superpowers, soar with Superman, play with Krypto the Superdog, and become part of an all-new Superman story. What Does The Superman Experience Include?
Fans eager to try the Superman Experience will find themselves starting at a central area designed like Superman’s Fortress of Solitude. The experience is full of fun, interactive games, cool props, and plenty of chances to take photos – it’s everything a Superman enthusiast could wish for!
Okay, so I checked out the Fortress and it’s seriously cool! There’s a full-size, talking robot of Gary – Robot #4, they call him – and this mini-game where you can toss a ball with Krypto in his Doghouse of Solitude. I also teamed up with a friend to solve a puzzle that turns on the Phantom Zone Projector. The more stuff we do, the more these Chaos Crystals light up, and eventually they’re supposed to activate the whole Fortress! They’re promising even more activities are coming soon, so I’m excited to go back and explore!
The highlight of the experience is a brand-new story developed specifically for the Defenders Unite attraction. You’ll become part of the world of James Gunn’s Superman movie, where Superman asks for your help and grants you Kryptonian abilities for an important task. Using incredible technology, you’ll feel like you’re actually flying with Superman, visiting famous places along the way.
You’ll train with Krypto on the Kent farm, then team up with Superman to fight Darkseid, the powerful ruler of Apokolips. To win and save the world, you’ll need to master your abilities and help Superman defeat Darkseid once and for all.
Visitors can grab food and drinks at the Fortress of Solitude lounge, and find exclusive souvenirs at a shop themed after the Daily Planet. A special comic book, Superman: Defenders Unite, created by writer Josh Trujillo and artist Bernard Chang, will also be available – it’s designed specifically for the Superman Experience: Defenders Unite attraction.
According to Danny Kahn, Vice President and General Manager of Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, the Superman Experience lets guests fully immerse themselves in the DC universe for a really fun visit. This new attraction is a collaboration between Global Experiences, Warner Bros. Studio Tour Hollywood, and DC Studios, designed to let fans make lasting memories while celebrating Superman.
