Tearful Kylie Kelce Shares Past Miscarriage “Still Hurts”

Kylie Kelce is reflecting on a devastating loss.

To mark Pregnancy & Infant Loss Awareness Month, the host of the Not Gonna Lie podcast-who has children Wyatt, 6, Elliotte, 4, Bennett, 2, and Finnley, 6 months, with her husband Jason Kelce-shared details about a miscarriage she experienced before getting pregnant with her oldest daughter.

I experienced what’s known as a missed miscarriage,” Kylie shared on the Oct. 2 episode of Not Gonna Lie, which was released on Wyatt’s 6th birthday. “Basically, your body doesn’t recognize that the pregnancy has stopped developing. The really difficult part is that you still have the placenta, so your body continues to produce pregnancy hormones. This means you still experience all the unpleasant symptoms and *feel* like you’re pregnant, even though you’re not.”

The 33-year-old-who previously discussed her loss in 2024-became emotional and started to cry while talking about her miscarriage, explaining that it still causes her pain even after having four children.

As Kylie shared on NGL, she found out she was pregnant in August 2018 after several months of trying. An ultrasound at six weeks showed the embryo was developing normally, though a few days behind schedule. While traveling in Europe, around the twelve-week mark, the couple informed his parents, Donna Kelce and Ed Kelce, and afterward, they also told his brother Travis Kelce the good news.

“We gave Jason’s parents a surprise video,” Kylie explained. “And while we were in Cleveland, we surprised Travis with some tiny baby booties.”

Her 13-week pregnancy check-up fell on Jason’s birthday, and she went to the appointment alone.

She remembered they attempted to use the doppler ultrasound. “It felt as if time slowed down,” she said, “and the technicians couldn’t locate the baby’s heartbeat with the doppler.”

Kylie shared an empathetic message for other women who have also suffered pregnancy losses.

I sincerely apologize if you’ve gone through this-it’s a truly awful experience, and I don’t know how else to put it. It’s just terrible,” she said. “Women’s health deserves serious attention and prioritization not just this October, but every month, so that any woman facing a similar situation can receive the care she needs.

Look back at Kylie and Jason’s family photos…

An ultrasound confirmed the pregnancy loss.

I recall thinking, ‘Oh, there’s no heartbeat. You couldn’t find one because there isn’t one,'” Kylie said. “They immediately brought me into the ultrasound room and performed a vaginal ultrasound. It was confirmed there was no heartbeat, and they estimated the baby had stopped developing between, I think, nine and 10 weeks.”

“I called my mom and told her that I couldn’t tell Jason because it was his birthday,” she shared, adding, “I did. It was very hard for both of us.”

Oh my god, I just found out Kylie had to schedule a D&E – a Dilation and Evacuation – only two days after finding out. It’s just… heartbreaking. And honestly, ever since her miscarriage, I’ve been so worried for her. Every time she gets pregnant, I just keep thinking about what happened before, and it’s like she’s been living with this constant fear of it happening again. It’s just awful to think about. I really hope this time is different, and she can finally have the happy, healthy pregnancy she deserves. I’ve been following her story for so long, and it’s just so emotionally draining to see her go through this. You can find more information about D&E procedures here, but honestly, it’s just not about the procedure itself, it’s about Kylie and her journey. I’m sending all my love and positive vibes her way.

With Wyatt, we kept our pregnancy a secret until I was past 20 weeks,” Kylie shared, adding that this is generally when a pregnancy is considered viable – meaning a baby has a chance of surviving if born early with medical help. “I was searching online almost weekly to see what the chances were of a baby surviving, which feels a little morbid when I say it out loud. I really did it for Finn.”

Kylie then shared a supportive message for other women who have experienced pregnancy losses. She wanted them to know they weren’t alone and offered her sympathies. It was a message of hope and understanding.

I sincerely apologize if you’ve gone through this – it’s a truly awful experience, and it’s hard to put it any other way. It’s just terrible,” she said. “Women’s health needs to be a priority every month, but especially this October, so that every woman facing a similar situation can receive the care she deserves.

For more stars who’ve shared their fertility journeys, keep reading.

As a longtime fan, I’ve been really touched by how open Jacob Mayo and his wife, the Duck Dynasty star, have been about their journey with fertility. They’ve shared so honestly why it’s important to them to document these struggles on their family’s new reality show, and I really appreciate their vulnerability.

In a May 2025 interview with Us Weekly, Bella and Jacob revealed they discuss their struggles with infertility on their show – something they hadn’t previously shared publicly. “It’s something people aren’t aware of,” Bella explained. “You can’t possibly know what someone is going through just by looking at their social media.”

It wasn’t just a good fit; it also let them be their true selves on the new show. They felt it was the right decision because it allowed them to be authentic.

Two years prior to when the former Miss Universe and Christian McCaffrey announced they were expecting a child, she had discussed how her endometriosis diagnosis could potentially cause problems with getting pregnant in the future.

“I’d like to have children, but I want to be certain it’s possible,” Culpo revealed on a November 2022 episode of The Culpo Sisters. She was diagnosed with a medical condition in 2020 and underwent surgery as a result, and shared that it might be difficult for her to get pregnant.”

“Endometriosis can impact your ability to get pregnant in several ways,” she continued. “Endometrial tissue can grow close to or on your ovaries, it might lower the quality of your eggs, and it can cause scarring in your fallopian tubes.”

Caelynn from Bachelor Nation recently opened up about the challenges she and her husband, Dean Bell, have faced trying to have a baby since getting married in 2023.

“It’s challenging,” Caelynn shared in a YouTube video from March 2025. “I’m not stressing myself out as much as I did when I first started trying.”

Even though dealing with this has been difficult emotionally, Caelynn is staying optimistic while she and her husband undergo medical tests to understand the cause of the issue and “figure out what’s going on.”

The Dancing With the Stars cohost has publicly discussed her difficulties with endometriosis, a condition affecting women’s reproductive health, and is taking steps to protect her ability to have children when she decides she’s ready.

In June 2025, she shared that she froze her eggs for the third time.

After having Sonny with her husband Tim Rosenman in 2017, the former star of The Hills has openly shared the challenges and joys of trying to have a family, including experiencing two miscarriages herself and two miscarriages for her surrogate mother.

In July 2024, Whitney confirmed she’s preparing for a second egg retrieval.

I’m certainly feeling improved compared to the previous time, as I have a better understanding of what to anticipate,” she explained, “and I have complete confidence in my doctor.”

Regardless of what unfolds as Whitney and her family prepare to welcome another child, she has consistently emphasized that her current family of three is already complete and fulfilling.

As we started trying for another baby, I really wanted to share how I feel. I wrote a little something as part of my son’s 7th birthday message in July 2024: I know, especially now, that our family is complete, no matter what happens. He truly is a blessing, and we absolutely love watching him grow up. We’re just so thankful for how chill he is!

Oh my gosh, I was so touched when Everything Everywhere All At Once star Michelle Yeoh talked about this! She married Jean Todt last year – can you believe they were engaged for *nineteen* years?! – but she’s also been so open about how difficult it was trying to have a baby with her first husband, Dickson Poon. It just makes me love her even more that she shares these personal things.

During a November 2024 podcast interview, Michelle revealed, “I always dreamed of having children.” She explained that she underwent fertility [treatments] hoping to conceive. She described the monthly waiting period as incredibly difficult, saying, “I think that’s the worst moment to go through – you feel like such a failure.”

She went on to say, “Eventually, you realize it’s no longer your fault. Sometimes, your body simply doesn’t work as it should, and that’s just a fact of life. You need to accept it and keep moving forward.”

The rapper, who has a son named Wilde with her husband Maximillion Cooper, previously shared a very sad story about losing a pregnancy. It happened because of an ectopic pregnancy, and she was filming her TV show Eve at the time.

In her memoir, Who’s That Girl?, Eve explained that she discovered she was pregnant in 2006. She needed immediate surgery, which meant pausing filming for about two weeks. She admits she’s not sure why she told everyone on set she had a burst appendix. Perhaps, she reflects, it was because she wasn’t being honest with herself.

She explained that if she were to lose her baby, she wasn’t sure if two weeks would be enough time to recover emotionally. “In the end, even that wasn’t quite enough time for my body to heal,” she said, explaining she had to return to work on set very quickly. “I’d lost a lot of weight after the surgery, and I was extremely weak.”

As a huge fan, I’ve always admired how open Selling Sunset star, Chrishell Stause, has been. She had her son, Austin, when she was just 15, and she and her husband, Romain Bonnet, have been really honest about everything they’ve gone through trying to grow their family. It’s inspiring to see her share their fertility journey so candidly.

“We’re unsure of how things will turn out,” she shared with TopMob News in September 2024. “We’re simply dealing with things as they happen. I’ve been incredibly busy lately with the book and the current season, so I know that nothing will come of it if I’m stressed or overwhelmed.”

Besides having surgery to correct a divided uterus (where a membrane splits the uterus into two sections), Mary shared that she and Romain aren’t making any hasty choices-and they’re content with life with their dog.

The real estate agent also mentioned their pet, Thor. “Romaine is completely in love with him,” she said. “So, if this deal falls through, Romaine says he’ll be fine because he has Thor, and he adores him. We’ll manage. Everything happens for a reason.”

NFL sportscaster Erin Andrews and her husband Jarret Stoll became parents to son Mack in July 2023. Their path to parenthood hasn’t always been easy-they faced challenges, including Erin’s diagnosis with cervical cancer back in 2017.

After proactively freezing her eggs before facing cancer, she later used IVF to become a mother-a journey she chose to document and share publicly.

I was simply exhausted from staying silent,” she said, explaining why she wrote about her difficulties in a 2021 essay. “It was a very difficult and painful experience. I think I became emotionally detached for much of it, because it felt like I was just going through the motions – like a robot – on a frustrating and unfair rollercoaster where you usually end up hearing disappointing news.

She explained, “I’m someone who freely expresses her feelings, and I wanted to honestly share how difficult the experience was. I understand that many couples and families going through fertility treatments feel the same way.”
